Following the promise of carrying forward the legacy of former President Sara Sanches, Igua-sul's current President Lucas Dias de Milo has announced his intentions to pursue the creation of five new independent nations within the territory. The proposal, which builds upon Sanches's vision of self-determination of the people for various ethnic groups, has gained force as almost the whole political body of Igua-sul is asking for the “final reform” and decentralization now.

If you don't know: The "final reform” is a popular term in Igua-sul which refers to a series of reformulations of the constitution to fix the problems brought by the sudden and unexpected huge territorial expansion of our country after the APSA/GW x Red Bloc/ISP/ES War of 2089 when Brazil was united. Before the unification, Igua-sul was a little country limited to its southern borders. But that changed, the social diversity now touches every corner of a continental land, and the maintenance of an aristocratic government that only represents southern Igua-sul has become obsolete. Check the map below to understand:

  • In black the original location of Igua-sul before unification.
  • In green the Independent State of São Paulo, which united to Igua-sul during the war.
  • In blue the unified territories.

One of the main ideas is a new capital that divides the administration power equally, changing the name of the country as well as its flag to better represent all the society instead of the former southern Igua-sul. There would also be a change to a federative model. At the moment Igua-sul remains as an unitary republic, we only use “federal” terms because the political vocabulary is used to it. Moreover, federal states or administration regions are going to be set up.

Milo aims to grant greater autonomy and self-governance to regions with distinct ethnic identities, yet all linked by the Portuguese language and the Brazilian way of life. He envisions that by doing so, these communities can better preserve their heritage and contribute more effectively to the overall development of the country. The move aligns with the principles of decentralization and inclusivity that have been at the forefront of Igua-sul's political agenda for years.

One of the key elements of the proposal is the creation of five new nations up in the north of Igua-sul. These regions would have the authority to govern themselves to a significant extent while remaining diplomatically close to Igua-sul to allow joint projects in the spheres of technology, culture, economy and overall politics. The plan would be implemented through a careful process of negotiation, dialogue, and democratic representation in the legislative Council of the Nation.

President Milo expressed his belief that this initiative could lead to greater unity within Igua-sul, stating, “By granting more autonomy to the northern regions, we strengthen our country's cultural mosaic. Each nation created under this plan will be a valuable contributor to our collective governments, and together, we can forge a stronger, more inclusive future for South America and the Portuguese-speaking nations.”

Seems like the President is going to show the final proposal in the Council in the next weeks, with the expected support of chairman Raul Raduan there is practically a 100% certainty this will go forward and the shape of South America will change considerably.
