Dogfighting as a tactic was thought to have died out over a century ago.

However, it seems that it has made one last resurgence.

Victoria and Beanstopia’s only fighter aces (and indeed, some of the only aces in the world) fought eachother today over the waters of Lake Issik-Kul in Soviet Kyrgyzstan, not far from the deadlocked frontlines.

The dogfighting came about as a result of expenditure of long-ranged air-air munitions and the pragmatism of the pilots.

After running out of missiles, Victorian pilot Otto Vasserland, piloting his custom-designed Victory-01 advanced fighter jet, decided to engage Beanstopian pilot, Geltsa Kir (Yeltsa Kir) in the skies over Issik-Kil. Kir aoon expended his own last missile, narrowly avoiding by Vasserland, who engaged with guns. The dogfight lasted for 20 minutes and ended indecisively, with Kir running out of ammunition but damaging Vasserland’s aircraft before doing so.
