The Grelandian Radiation Observatory reported that global nuclear radiation levels hit apocalyptic levels, effectively killing off even the most nuclear-resistant types of crops and rendering the outdoors inhospitable to life. Farmers complained of crops withering the moment they were planted outside their greenhouses and livestock owners observed their animals getting sick in huge numbers at the same time. However, the Agricultural and Livestock Department assured that food prices will only increase by a small margin and food will be processed to get rid of radioactive particulate matter.

The government issued curfews to prevent unnecessary movements and to avoid increasing cases of radiation sickness, as well as importing more food for safety against shortages. The Labor and Education Department also ordered educational institutions to switch to alternate forms of teaching and ushered jobs to be undertaken with additional safety measures.

The Health Advisory Board urged citizens to don radiation protection suits when venturing outside and to stay indoors unless needed. Prolonged exposure, although not lethal to the people of Orbis, can cause symptoms such as nausea, disorientation, fever and chills.
