In the capital city of Villigance in the nation of Poltranat, protests have broken out over the stagnation of actions in Congress. A horn lock of sorts has occurred over the issue of the expansion of subsidies for flax and potatoes. The main opposition, The Freedom Party, is citing the already high subsidies and increase in general taxes as a reason to reject this proposal; the proponent for this bill is the National Party, more focused on bringing more funding to the generally poorer rural areas.

However, this conflict has brought all activity in Congress to a halt, as the two sides are not giving in to any proposed changes. In response, over the past week, citizens have begun to protest outside the capital, pushing for getting past partisan issues and moving on as a nation.

More on the situation over the next few days.
