The road system is divided between Federal Highways, usually two to four-lane highways that interconnect important urban and economical centers of Sonnemund and are entirely financed and administered Interstate Federal Ministry of Infrastructure of the SFIC, State Highways, usually one to two-lane highways focused on connecting smaller cities and frontier towns. Each Federal Republic is responsible for the administration and maintenance of their respectives state highways. Finally, there are the Rural Highways, those can be financed either by the Autonomous Municipalities or by the Federal Republic and generally are either single lane highways or unpaved streets. They allow rural fields to be connected to the wider road system.
The most used federal highway in the country is the SNM-230, more known as the Precious Trail because of it's historical, economical and mineral relevance. This highway connects the cities of Sperare Nibuli, Forzavita, Mondstaten, Heilimutter and the capital Leidenschaflitch. Today, by incorporating such high density and heavy industrialized regions, the ammount of people transversing it is enormous.
Other famous federal highways are the SNM-210 (Freidorf-Krynibiya-Hayku Isolloto-Khai Leranus), the SNM-260 (Iyuridia-Comniverstag-Lunáir-Melodeux-Lykaios-Il Ascendenza), the SNM-184 (Mon Celesté-Leidenschaftlich-Freidorf) and the SNM-270 (Liberté A'vant-Aquitemeia-Jourhistorie-Mon Celesté-Ay' Halem).

The rail system is currently under reconstruction after the failure of a liberal privatization plan adopted by the KLP, with a good portion of the system being poorly maintained and understaffed. The railway system has two main routes, the first being called The Golden Route, connecting the mining cities of Fuzburg-Daikón and transporting mineral resources to the industrial cities of Forzavita, Heilimutter and Krynibiya or to Freidorf or Leidenschaftlich for exporting. The other route is called The Fields Route, connecting the vast and complex agricultural system of Mithia. Those two routes are connected by three main rail connections that enable the cooperation between those two different rail systems.
SFIC recently delivered funds to the Ministry of Infrastructure to create and expand a high-speed railway system, with connections in the Greater Liberté A'vant Metropolitan Area and the Forzavita-Mondstadten being two of the most succesful examples of this new, faster and more technological way of transportation.

The three main harbours of the Federated Union of Sonnemund are located on Liberté A'vant, Leidenschaftlich and Freidorf correspondingly. They are important for the export of manufactured and primary resources and international trade to the wider world, and also for enabling communications and transportat to the Azhurian Archipelago and the Zhakaliham Islands.
Sonnemund has a total of 15 harbours, with three being located in the Greater Leidenschaftlich Metropolitan Area and four in the Greater Liberté A'vant Metropolitan Area. There are also three ports in the Archipelagos and the other harbours are located on Freidorf, Krodlowa, Haltenbucht and Port Merccia. Only the Federal Republics of Krythia and Mithia have harbours, with Fuzburg-Daikon being landlocked.
