The nation of Hungary is one of the best examples for a nation, which never really changed that much. While the nations around it would fall or at least undergo massive changes, Hungary remained weirdly a nation which could stay nearly the same.
From the outside at least...
In the inside they were and still are paranoid of a potential attack from the outside world. They build massive fortifications and gave the citizens guns to defend the land of Hungary from intruders.
They entered the ruins of what was left from Romania and Serbia and annexed these leftovers like Banat and a part of Transylvania. They did it to gain more resources for economic growth and military protection.
Hungary remained a democracy and even could strenghen it after Victor Orbáns rule, but the situation might change anytime:
Voices from the Hungarian Actions Collective advocate for a greater Hungary and active inclusion in foreign politics, while the United blocc advocates for strict neutrality.
Currently United Blocc Parties have majority in Parliament making Hungary neutral, but how long will this remain?
Will Hungary ensure its neutrality, or will it join the everlasting battlefield of Orbis?
