Rising tension in Antarctic colonies over militarisation

When New Argentina first arrived in Antarctica, Supreme leader Francisco promised the people there would be no military presence in Antarctica. This promise was quickly broken when military forces landed outside the new colony. There was outrage at Francisco for breaking his promise, but he claimed the military was only there to protect the colony from the threat of pirates, and would not be involved in any of Francisco’s offensive wars, which have often been frowned upon in the past by the people.

Three months later, mainland new Argentina was attacked by the nation of Nashdar. The military was quick to respond with peace talks (lol) and then blockading the nation of Nashdar. However, an air strike on Nashdar was launched from the colony of Iceburgia. This provoked further outrage from the people. A new group, “polar freedom” formed and organised peaceful protests. These were responded to with brute force from the military presence in Iceburgia. This led to rioting against the government, who were accused of being dishonest and betraying the people.

These riots lasted for almost a whole day and Francisco was quick to label the polar freedom group as ‘criminal terrorists’. The military has also moved in forces to other new Argentinian antarctic colonies such as aurora. This has led to mounting tension in Antarctica.

That’s it for today, be sure to stay tuned to new Argentine news to see how these events unfold.
