Francis Frostbird stepped out onto the balcony of his new seaside villa on Icefell Island, gazing out at the hive of activity in the shipyard. Massive hulls in various stages of assembly loomed before him, buzzing with workers welding, grinding and hammering away.

He smiled thinking back to his meeting yesterday with Captain Freeze at Southern Seas Shipworks headquarters. They pored over blueprints late into the night, Freeze providing key input on maximizing icebreaking capability and range for the new vessel.

Frostbird sipped his coffee, peering through binoculars at a nearly complete ship being lowered into the water by an enormous floating crane. The roar of its engines firing up echoed across the island.

This ship was the fruit of Frostbird's latest patent - IceNav 2.0  an innovative ice-predicting navigation system that integrated radar, sonar, network of buoys, coastal stations, cameras, and autonomous drones. The system was unique thanks to it's independence from satellite data. He couldn't wait to install the system on these new ships to begin sea trials around Icefell Island.

Frostbird turned to head back inside, satisfied at the progress being made. The shipyards were ramping up faster than even he had predicted. Soon Plumbago would boast the most advanced icebreaking fleet in Antarctica.
