On August 11 2090 (Orbis Date), The Australian People's Armed Forces (APAF) announced it's first ever victory in war since the founding of the People's Republic. For most of the Armed Force's History, the APAF has been defeated in every engagement. However, since the rapid growth in popularity of the CPA-M (The militarist faction of the ruling party), the APAF has seen rapid growth in size and combat abilities, and with this victory, the CPA-M is expected to grow massively in popularity.
The Prime Minister of the APR, Ryan Zygard has made a public statement in regards to this victory, "I wish to congratulate our fighting Comrades in our Armed Forces for achieving this unprecedented victory, the APAF has finally proved to be an effective, competent, and skilled fighting machine. More money and state resources will be soon be dedicated to our Armed Forces, The days of constant defeat is now over! URA!
The Australian People's Armed Forces, successor to the Australian Defense Forces of the old Commonwealth, has been burdened for years by its small size, this was due to the old Commonwealth's reliance on the United States of America. Then when Australia became a Socialist state, not only did the USA abandon Australia, but the new government neglected the Armed Forces, seeing it as a relic from the "Imperialist Days. Now that the years have past, and Australia has rebuilt its identity from the ground up, the Armed Forces is once again retuning to its old strength, no longer seen as "A tool of the Americans", the Armed Forces is now seen as "The Eternal Defenders of the Pacific Proletariat".
