WAR!

War! The President made it official in his speech in the early morning hours. With vicious surprise air- and ground attacks carried out in the early morning hours followed by a declaration of war by the countries of Cakalistan and Leviathania, Nova Bavarian peace was nothing but a memory. Thousands died in the attacks on the capital and the city of Regensburg. The cities also suffered heavy infrastructure damage, but the Nova Bavarian armed forces managed to repel the enemy and strike back swiftly. Initial territorial losses have been regained, air and ground superiority has been re-established and the fighting has been taken to the soil of the predators, whose armies seem to be beaten, says President Söder. Probably because of the attackers failure, yet another enemy of Nova Bavaria, the People’s Kingdom of Ostialia, has later intervened in the war. The impact of that fact remains to be seen.

President Söder has declared martial law in the front cities. Evacuation has already begun or will begin shortly. The government urges people to stay calm, prepare for evacuation, obey mandatory evacuation orders and stay tuned to the known radio- and TV-stations as well as check the government’s internet websites for the latest information. An information hotline and chatbot have also been established. Emergency services are working as usual. Rebuilding has in some parts already begun in Nova Bavarian cities. GATO has declared an emergency and all support mechanisms are in full operation. Pyro, the chairman, declared in his speech that many GATO nations have been under attack and are fighting back bravely. GATO stands strong by its allies side, as Minister of Defense Avocado said in his speech. A counter-offensive is being planned and executed.

As to the big question, why all this is happening, there is no satisfactory answer as of yet. The attackers seem to be united in the alliance calling itself „Singularity“, which in turn is part of a network referring to itself as „Florida“. As to the intentions or goals of the attackers or this mega-alliance, none have been made clear so far. It seems that this is just a senseless and brutal act of terror, much like one is used to from the arrgh-ian pirates. We urge everyone to stay safe and help each other in these times of need and suffering. This is a time when our young nation is put before the ultimate test, a test which we shall not fail.
