Tonight at approximately 01:30 AM the Global Alliance & Treaty Organization, of which European Nutella is part of, has been called to war.
Our nation was called upon to fight against the enemy nations of Alexandria and Aqayua, while simultaneously it was attacked by Gammonfell, Alyeska and the kingdom of Thailand.
Due to the intensity of the fighting and the massive scale of these operations, the likes of which our nation has not seen in a long time, President Victoria Desiderium alongside the government has announced the beginning of the State of Emergency, which was voted unanimously in favour by the parliament. In practice this means that elections are suspended until the end of the SoE, all foreign tourists are to be evacuated, rationing of necessary goods will be implemented, non-necessary work is halted, military reserves have been called to action and all individuals fit for service and not in work necessary towards the war effort or maintaining the martial law are to report to the nearest recruitment office to provide their availability should the Nation require their military service. Refugee corridors for children, the elderly and other vulnerable people are being opened towards any non-hostile nation that would temporarily host them, should it be impossible for the children or non-autonomous disabled people to be accompanied by non-fit-for-service relatives or delegated person, only 1 relative is allowed to leave the country with them. Martial law has been implemented.
The president has given the following speech from her bunker: "Dear Comrades of European Nutella. Our allies and our Nation have come under attack. It is our duty to answer the call to arms and fight to defend our homeland and our allies. Just as one year ago we started our revolution to achieve our freedom from the shackles of capitalism, it is now imperative we took up arms again to defend the rights we have attained and our socialist way of life. I, alongside all members of the government, will remain to lead our Nation through these troubled times. The situation on the fronts is volatile and could change at any moment, remain vigilant and steadfast in your defense."
