Your Source for Biased News, Fresh out of Rimskaya

In light of recent international events, it seems that unfortunate happenings have unfolded in Central America and sections of the Revolutionary People's Army.

As a response to Commissar Augustus' speech regarding the collapse of global authority, order, and connections, sections of the population and army have decided they're tired of Rimskaya's inaction on the world stage. Their claims range from the simple of Rimskaya not being verbally involved enough, right to up to betrayal of Internationalism all together.

Most of the support for this movement has gathered in Central America, in hopes of preventing any damage to the Floridian Peninsula, and avoid any repercussions. Constitutionally, the National Government cannot deploy any kind of police presence unless the protests grow excessively violent, but tensions have been on the rise, with demonstrations across Rimskaya for and against the new movement.

A large amount of youth in Florida have staged protests in the major Floridian cities, including Novogo Rima, in support of the new movement against "Rimskayan Isolationism". Many of them are fierce revolutionaries, descendants of the army that created Rimskaya, who have grown a disdain for the functions of the National Government.

The youth are mainly students from high schools and universities around the peninsula and country, and compare themselves to Maoist China's Red Guard, the notorious student network of the Cultural Revolution, minus the cultural and intellectual purges. They believe that it cements them as a non-government, independent action force.

Their leaders, mainly student governments and councils in a loose coalition, claim to have active contacts within the R.P.A. ready to assist if things go downhill. One of them, quoting the unofficial mission statement of The Red Guard, stated this:

"Marxism has defined our future as an armed revolutionary youth organization.... So if Karl Marx is our Red-Commander-in-Chief and we are his Red Guards, who can stop us? First we will make Rimskaya Marxist from inside out and then we will help the working people of other countries make the world red...and then the whole universe."

The leaders of the Army state that these claims cannot be proven actively false, and that it is entirely possible that a large portion of the army is ready to act in the student's favour. There is currently no active investigation into this, as the movement maintains a heavily Marxist base, and therefore presents no credible threat to the state.

Augustus himself has been notified of the rising unrest and dissatisfaction. He has announced his plan to meet with the leaders of the army and student organization(s) in a public discussion to sort out the issues without violence. He simultaneously made clear that his plan for the 2090s to restore Rimskaya's prowess will not be disturbed by this period of uncertainty, both domestically and internationally.

Rimskaya has never experienced any kind of major civil unrest, not even considering the idea of civil war, ever in her history. In a world of constant warfare and collapse, as has clearly been demonstrated from recent incapabilities of the international community to cooperate because of the most trivial and unfortunate disagreements, Rimskaya's Marxist-Trostkyist ideology has kept her tightly glued together, as a means of protection and prosperity alike.

But then, what is to happen when both protection and prosperity begin to fall apart?

Only the future, and the people, could know the answer.
