The past two weeks have seen an abhorrent level of despair within the Macedonian nation. New Republic of Macedonia fell victim to a breach in sovereignty by 6 individual nations, predominantly from the Weebunism alliance, who have attempted to cripple the nation in a full scale military invasion. The Macedonian military responded swiftly and in a full defensive mode as they scrambled to cover every city behind the borders, in order to evacuate civilians and repel enemy advances.

The attackers pushed relentlessly and killed well over 400,000 Macedonian soldiers, as well as a genocidal amount of almost 1 million civilians through missile bombings and a nuclear explosion in the capital city, which killed almost 300,000 civilians. The defensive battle was mostly devastating, as several cities fell and large swabs of civilians flocked to enlistment offices in cities that were still standing, only to get gunned down on the frontlines, dying in piles of rubble they once called their home.

However once the initial shock of a surprise invasion was over, the military quickly came up with a counteroffensive, and successfully struck back against the invaders, wiping out all enemy presence within the country, neutralizing hostile border zones, and even sending the battle back to the enemies, invading each of their respective nations and winning. This war resulted in the first naval conflict Macedonia has had with another nation, and Admiral Petrovska of the Macedonian Navy did not disappoint, scoring around 50 sunken enemy vessels, with 0 Macedonian ships sunk. King Karusa was also very happy to note that the nation's Iron Dome was rolled out successfully, and intercepted over 5 hypersonic missiles launched against the nation.

As a result of the invasion, Macedonia has increased its military spending, purchasing hundreds of new armoured assault vehicles, tanks, air craft and ships. The nation's border force has been reinstated after being nothing short of obliterated in the never ending assaults in the Macedonian-Weebunism war.

With this new equipment order, Macedonia has begun modernizing their armoured fleet, and selling/scrapping old and redundant soviet-era vehicles. The reason behind this, according to King Karusa, is because the Armoured brigades in the Army took far too many casualties, and the older model vehicles were being ripped apart by the advanced enemy armament. He credits front line victory to the fact that Macedonia simply had more, rather than better. And vows to turn this around, to increase better while maintaining more, to see less losses on the battlefield, as every Macedonian life is cherished and precious.

This image was taken by a journalist of the National Newspaper Bulletin of Macedonia, and it shows a Macedonian Army Anti Tank Squad preparing an ambush on a Weebunism tank brigade deep within the enemy occupied city of Negotino. This city fell due to a massive ground invasion by the enemy, and there was no available Macedonian Air Force squadrons in the sector which could provide air support in time, thus seeing 75% of the city falling in less than a week. The remaining strongholds were able to muster up enough manpower for a counteroffensive, which was fortunately an overwhelming success.

This particular group of anti tank soldiers managed to cripple and destroy the first and last tank of the armoured convoy, trapping the remaining tanks in between their dead teammates. This made them sitting ducks for a handful of attack jets to rain JDAM bombs down on the trapped tanks, and any infantry who escaped their tanks were gunned down by the anti tank patrol, who were hidden under rubble, overlooking the tanks with their AK-47 assault rifles.

This ambush was successfully replicated with 2 more armoured convoys, before 30,000 Macedonian soldiers made it to the city, and executed a full scale counter offensive which pushed Weebunism out of Negotino, and Kichevo, freeing up a good chunk of the nation. This alleviated enough pressure for the Macedonians which resulted in a nation-wide counteroffensive, where Weebunism positions were targeted and destroyed, which eventually lead to them being pushed to the border, and then their own borders overseas, which resulted in Macedonian occupation of all enemy nations.

All combined defensive holds, counteroffensives, and offensives, resulted in over 1 million enemy casualties in military deaths, as well as several thousand POW's, in which anyone ranked Colonel or higher, were executed publicly in the Macedonian cities they personally lead attacks against. This included firing squad, public beating/stoning, hanging, bayonet charge, set on fire, etc, and all broadcasted on live television. Anyone ranked below Colonel were released back to their home countries after serving hard labour throughout the duration of the war, and were only able to go home once the war concluded.

King Karusa releases a formal apology to those POW's they've pushed or hurt, however urges any nation to observe just how harsh of a punishment attackers will receive.

Above image displays a burning house in the outskirts of the city of Kichevo, in which Weebunism artillery struck. Although minor, several civilians were killed in the attack. This was shortly before the major nuclear attack on Skopje, which resulted in the entire city being destroyed. Macedonia largely condemns the use of nuclear weapons in war, as it kills more civilians than any important military zones and is a wasteful, destructive, and almost useless weapon in the grand scheme of things that only harms civilians. The nation responsible was promptly blockaded, and air raided until capitulation.

As soon as the war ended, border rebuilding projects seemed to have triggered aggression and tension from neighbouring state, North Macedonia. This NATO country in which NROM gained independence from has been harassing NROM since its formation, and is closer than ever to sparking armed conflict with NROM. During the border reclamation in NROM, North Macedonia accuses NROM of crossing over and illegally expanding their border deeper into the territory of North Macedonia. Despite several attempts to prove to North Macedonia that NROM troops were spot on at their old destroyed borders, and not anywhere into NM land, the government of NM still persists a hostile accusation. The tensions resulted in shots fired at the NROM-NM borders, with almost a hundred rounds discharged, and zero casualties on either side. The exchange of fire has resulted in an increase of troops lined up at the border in case of an invasion.

Macedonian border troops armed with state of the art western weaponry line the NROM-NM borders alongside hundreds of armoured and reinforced vehicles in order to quell the chances of invasion from an inferior force. King Karusa issues a passive aggressive plea to the North Macedonian government, stating on the record: "Why would you threaten to invade your Macedonian brothers? Do you honestly believe your army of 73,000 can win over our 240,000?" This only seemed to have angered the NM President.

Nevertheless, King Karusa vows that he is doing everything in his power to avoid a civil war between two Macedonian nations. 'Regardless if one is working with the enemy.' - King Karusa.

Military bases near the border are also experiencing heavy reinforcements as the army prepared hundreds of armoured personnel carriers, and infantry assault vehicles in case a war breaks out. These vehicles have been set up to act as quick response to repel any offensive against the borders.

The NROM War Cabinet made a surprising announcement to North Macedonia just recently, stating that NROM will deliver a quick, efficient, and devastating invasion that wouldn't even last a week if NM kept 'pissing us off' This threat made headlines in NM and riots broke out in several North Macedonian cities, urging the NM government to cease aggression against NROM. The country is also seeing mass cases of people movement as Macedonians from NM are flocking over to the NROM border to escape North Macedonia. Each and every Macedonian was welcomed at the border and successfully given asylum in nearby cities, in which residents also welcomed them warmly. As a result, the government of NROM mandated an additional infrastructure package in nearly half of the existing cities, which is designed to account for the immigrants and give them homes.

This did not help the situation with NM, and King Karusa says that unfortunately a war is inevitable at this point.

In other news, a tourist has been publicly executed in the city of Ohrid for desecrating a national monument. The government has hidden from which nation with tourist belongs to, and was executed publicly via firing squad for allegedly destroying a Macedonian war memorial, which commemorates fallen soldiers of that city.

This image provided by an anonymous source shows the small plaque completely destroyed and trashed. Several police complaints were issued by eye witnesses, and one citizen even started to physically assault the tourist, in which a brawl broke out, injuring the tourist and the citizen. When police arrived on scene, they pepper sprayed and tazed the tourist, apprehending them and taking them not to prison, or a precinct, but rather the center of the city Ohrid, blindfolding them and shooting them in the back of the head in front of a live crowd. Public execution of people who desecrate or betray Macedonia is legal in the country, but rare, as this was the first time in recorded history NROM had hosted a public execution.

The police ensured the tourist's family was rounded up to watch the execution, before they were banned from entering NROM and sent back to their home country. This has sparked up a debate of ethics, questioning whether or not Macedonia should keep this law around, and that it could spark an international incident with other countries if this keeps happening. However the local government of Ohrid stuck to their guns, saying that it was justified, and that tourists should know what is acceptable and what isn't, within Macedonia, and to respect our culture just as they would respect their own, or one of another state. The local government urges all tourists to 'be respectful, not just in Macedonia, but all of the Balkans.'

In other news, a minor helicopter accident occurred in the airport of Skopje, as a Macedonian police helicopter accidentally flipped and crashed on the tarmac, fortunately, nobody was hurt.

The police department still do not know what caused this issue, as the pilot had reported no issues during take off or mid flight, and that he had suddenly lost control of the aircraft's pitch maneuverability, causing it to roll over and slam into the runway. This injured the pilot, but miraculously nobody was seriously hurt, or killed. The fire brigade arrived on scene not even a minute after the crash had occurred, putting out any external flames on the propellers, before rescuing the crew of four inside.
