Welcome back ladies, gentlemen, and all the other genders out there, to our first normal edition of the State-run news since the war with the Chaos Insurgency!

Bringing you heavily biased news from the most Marxist state in Orbis, this the R.S.P.C. at 4pm Eastern Standard Time on August 15th, 2088.

Don't worry comrades, we're still vigilantly searching for a version of this song not from the Stalin era that is shorter than a minute. Or we'll just make it ourselves once we have time in our lives.

I'm Ludmil Solovev, Let us get straight to the point then, shall we?

Earlier this week reports started coming in from the western side of Hispaniola, more commonly known as Haiti, that a mysterious fog had begun rolling down from the mountains of the island. When locals were asked if the area usually got fog, they replied in the negative, stating there is usually a balance of rain and sunshine.

Our Special Reporter Roman Sergeev comes to us live from the regional capital Port-au-prince with further updates, Roman?

Yes Ludmil I'm here in the mountain ranges of Hispaniola just west of the border between Rimskayan Haiti and the Dominican Socialist Republic, both of which have been under Rimskayan governance for many years now, after being brought under the hammer and sickle by former Commissar Maximus and his Operation: Nova Anadyr. Originally the island was under one governance combined with Puerto Rico, but this proved too difficult to govern due to ethnic differences, so the 3 domains were given their own autonomy.

When we arrived earlier by helicopter, we flew over the streets of the Port-au-Prince, which seemed far more modernized than they had when we first arrived after years of imperialism-induced poverty. We could already see the fog from as far away we were, and upon landing we had learned it was moving rather quickly, almost like a dust bowl or sandstorm.

As we ventured closer to the edge of the advancing clouds, I was briefed on recent events. Anyone who attempted to venture into the fog never returned, and its sheer size seemed to mesmerize those who looked at it for too long. Evidence from those studying the fog indicate that the fog may in fact be a toxic smog, as it induced severe nausea and memory loss from extended exposure.

How exactly a toxic smog is emerging spontaneously from mountains on a rather unindustrialized island is unknown. Any attempts at flying above the fog have been unsuccessful, as heavy wind gusts concentrated around the upper half of the cloud prevent any safe flight travel over or near it.

If we take a look there you can see the fog advancing, according to researchers the fog has been expanding at faster and slower paces almost at random, but has never stopped or retreated. Currently it is moving at the slowest it has been recorded so we're able to station ourselves here, though eventually we will have to get up and move.

Now Roman has the local government issued an evacuation order or civil danger warning of any sort?

No Ludmil the local authorities are monitoring the situation closely and are reportedly in continuous active contact with the officials in Novogo Rima and our national science department, NRRNSLERD (The Novaya Rimskaya Respublika National Scientific Laboratories for Exploration, Research, and Development). In the meantime they have been trying to reassure the population that they are there to protect them, and that nothing shall harm the people of Haiti.

They have begun preparations if an evacuation is needed but so far there is minimal concern in the rest of Haiti, and a similar story next door in the Dominican Socialist Republic, which has been making similar preparations should the fog spill over into their lands.

Alright Roman hopefully everything goes well-

Oh hold- hold on Ludmil the fog seems to be speeding up, we should... probably get moving here...

Oh wow it's very fast... look at that it's racing towards us... its like it just suddenly came to life!

Alright we gotta start running... (muffled sounds, unintelligible commands and yelling)

Look at that... it's advancing on all fronts... same thing's happening all along its frontier?

Alright get... get in contact with the local government... tell them (loud roar)

What the hell was that!?

We gotta get out of here... get in...

Alright, we still rolling?

Yes Roman, are you ok?

Yes Ludmil, we're currently in a truck heading back to Port-au-Prince... I don't know... the fog is moving very fast... is it still speeding up?

(Background: yeah it... step on the gas it's actually... it's catching up to us holy [REDACTED]...)

Stay with me Roman, alright? Just hang on.

We're trying... alright the research team leader is on the phone with the local authorities... the fog... still speeding up. It's not relenting at all. We're going very fast here.

(Background, presumed research leader: Alright they've issued an evacuation order, we gotta get to the coast and get out of here. Apparently the fog is also spilling over into the D.S.R. (Dominican Socialist Republic) at similar speeds.)

Alright... Ludmil it seems things have just escalated greatly here. I also wanna point out a reminder, as we were getting to the truck, what sounded like a loud roar came from within the fog, not sure what that was, no such animals in the region can make such a noise as far as I know...

The fog is still moving, I think it stopped speeding up but holy [REDACTED] it's moving fast... how fast are we going? (Background: around... 60 miles per hour). Lord... good thing Rimskaya improved the road infrastructure... otherwise we'd probably be overturned by now.

So Roman if the fog is moving that fast clearly this isn't something natural.

No Ludmil this is by no means a natural occurrence, nothing like this has ever been recorded before, the best we can assume is some kind of chemical attack... It's... It's speeding up again... Is that a shadow!?

STEP ON THE [REDACTED] GAS!

Holy [REDACTED] look at them all, there's so many of them all racing down with the fog!

Alright I should probably take the time now to say parents any children in the house we advise them to leave any room with access to this feed... This could turn bad very fast...

Ludmil? We still broadcasting?

Yes Roman, can you hear me?

Yeah, we're going almost 100 miles per hour here, the fog is not letting up, receiving word that the government in Novogo Rima has been informed and is dispatching emergency relief teams and setting up shelters on Cuba and Puerto Rico for any refugees... It's going so [REDACTED] fast... and those things, what the hell are they? They don't look real in any way...

Can you describe any of them to us?

Well look see for yourself there's one looks almost like an elephant but with 3 trunks and a hellish amount of tusks... there's one that's flying almost like a caterpillar or bacteria with a bunch of, pilus is it? I dunno man it's just so creepy, but at the same time so beautiful. I dunno what to think here, it's almost like a dream... rather a nightmare really...

Alright Roman we're going to stay on the air---

This is a message from the Rimskayan Emergency Alert System.

At this time, an evacuation order has been issued for the entire island of Hispaniola in regards to the fog. All residents on the island will be required to leave their homes immediately, and make their way to the coast as fast as possible.

Bring as little as possible, to prevent any delays in the evacuation.

In the event that evacuation becomes impossible, shelter in place inside a building or underground, while shutting off and blocking any ventilation or other ways the fog could enter the shelter.

The National Government has issued a civil danger warning for the island of Hispaniola, and an emergency watch for all nearby islands, including Puerto Rico, Cuba, and Jamaica. At this time, all residents within those islands, or within 500 miles of the island, should begin packing emergency supplies, in case the situation gets out of hand.

At this time, the fog spreading over Hispaniola has been deemed a toxic bio-hazard, as well as any of the alleged creatures emerging from it. Anyone who comes into contact with the fog should be deemed lost, and not be helped under any circumstances.

The Revolutionary People's Army has dispatched the National Guardsmen to handle any potential disorder stemming from this unfolding event, as well as the Double-Edged Sword Task Force to investigate further. From this point forward, Double-Edged Sword, in cooperation with NRRNSLERD, shall be in full control of the investigation.

This has been the Rimskayan Emergency Alert System, we will continue to serve the Novogo Rima metropolitan area. If you are not in this area, you should tune into stations that provide localized information. We will provide further updates as the situation unfolds.
