The Republic of Pärnu has officialy changed the National anthem of the country from "Säkkijärven polkkaa" to "Pärnu/Pärnua laul"

Säkkijärven Polkka was the anthem of Pärnu from 2078 to 2088.

"This new Anthem capacitates a feel of Pärnu identity and national pride distinct from the finnish-karelian Relations" says Aino Rebane.

Government institutions will now be obliged to use this as The new national anthem of The Republic of Pärnu.
