The President has today unveiled the largest constitutional change seen in Gwlad Emrys for over 12 years.

The move, announced on a visit to the Caerdydd Council Chambers, will create 2 legislative houses in Cardiff Bay.

"Dear Gwlad Emrys.

I started my presidency promising to avoid constitutional issues, to work for the Emrysian people. I have stuck to that all through my time as President.

However our work grounds to a halt for one reason, a lack of a democratic system. I do not have any negotiation power in Serene Wei until a full democracy has been set up here, and therefore I have no choice but to move to do this at haste.

In the August council elections, there will be 2 other ballots. One will be for a new Gwlad Emrys Parliament, consisting of 650 seats across the country. Each seat will provide 1 MP.

The other ballot will be for the Mayoral Senate. That is 97 Senators elected on the current local authority boundaries.

This move will transform this country into a democratic society and will ensure that we progress into the future will confidence.

Thank you"

The Sawhists and the Liberal Stoneacrats have criticised the decision to have 2 first-past-the-post elections as "unethical" .

The Social Party told the Gwlad Emrys Post:

"While we welcome the move by the President, we must acknowledge this is merely a delaying tactic to avoid the inevitable discussion regarding leaving Serene Wei. We will contest every seat in this election and we will gain the mandate to leave the alliance.

This changes nothing"
