The Corsican Government has taken the world by storm today, slightly emerging out of their isolationist shell to proclaim their long forgotten claims on the Balearic islands. These claims have stood hidden deep within Corsican archives for years now, but the government has decided its time to retake them. As the military rapidly expanded at unprecedented rates for no apparent reason, the government seemed to ready itself. The Balearic islands are a strategic location, and an ancient claim since Croatian times. Croatian settlers had in fact settled a long time ago, but by now theyre a vast minority.

Still, the government reaffirms their claims and has taken actions to slowly safeguard them and has imposed a naval blockade on the island. The government has since denounced the "Iberian Union" that claims both Corsica and Sardinia and doesnt recognize the Corsican government. Ever since the old guard took over, they were highly agressive to anyone that tried to oppose them or their claims.

Of course, now that Corsica is no longer war-torn or plague-torn and is in the midst of rebuilding (for like the 9th time) for the first time EVER it sets its eyes past its borders. It seems like Corsica is finally making some progress, ripping out of their hard-coated fallen empire shell and banging their heads on Europe's door with the furiosity of an Imperial Knight.

The Corsican navy consists of 112 ships, and is still growing. While the navy is the pride (and has been since Croatia) of the nation, several other military branches have been bolstered. For instance, the tank force has doubled reaching 10k tanks. The Airforce is now the primary branch of focus, with the government wishing to reach 750 planes by the end of the 2080's. Soldiers remain at a steady 135k, projected to increase to 150k by 2090. The Airforce, standing at a relatively weak 450 planes (only 70% more than average unlike the navy's 200% over average) is a subject of mass expansion.

This unprecedented act has set the stage for Corsica's very slow, but steady, change from isolationism. Although ROOTED in the nation's history, many argue that neutrality is the nation's true roots.
