You really shouldn't be growing food at c6 anyways. Raid inactive nations for it instead, then you have nothing but profits :)

You have 6 cities. With your size you should not be growing food, you won't produce enough to make good revenue when you sell on the market (with or without radiation). Since you're in North America, I would recommend something like iron or steel, which will give you a lot more money when you sell on the market. Fun little bonus, iron and steel become more valuable during war so you'll get more money that way.
I recommend you buy all your food on the market instead, even with current prices it's better in the long run. This is what most established players do, you'll notice most food producers have over 30 cities because it's the only way the practice is actually profitable/worthwhile. After the radiation dies down, I also recommend you buy a lot of food when it's cheap and stockpile so you have a supple during tougher times like these.

I will say this again like the above people, but you shouldn't be growing food. I used to have the same dumb plans to grow food in c5, c6, c7 mainly because I was new to this game and was unaware of technical rules of this game.
If you need food for now, DM me and I will give you some food for the time being. But yeah, it will be best if you try raid some nations and earn the food and money to buy so instead of growing food.
And yeah, rich people do sell food in profit during the wars because there is a shortage of so, and the rich nations effectively have food stockpiled. But that doesn't mean you should be growing food to meet demands. Wars will exist in this game, but you gotta prepare. Nukes will be used until serious measures are taken, and small nations will struggle in wars due to increased produce prices, but it's all a thing for sometime and you can always join strong alliances which at some cases can be a friendly community you can spend a fun time with. So yeah, if you aren't one in already, join and they can also help you with cheap products.
