GBN-           Today, we are a nation in mourning. On Thursday, the 29th of May, 2087 at 19:48, a synagogue in northern Norrbotten, on the island of Vännästölven, was bombed. The current death toll is 23, with 47 wounded. The attack was the worst anti-semitic attack since the 2019 Kepstin Synagogue Hostage Crisis, where during friday night prayers, armed militants from the now dissolved "Sound" rebel group stormed the synagogue and held over 250 people hostage, eventually killing 203 of them. Though the failure of action by the Kepstin Metropolitan Peacekeeping Force, and The National Investigation Bureau was a stain at the time, it has since become only a distant memory for many.

The number of synagogue attacks, and other anti-semitic hate crimes, has been on the rise in the 87% majority Reform Judaism country. A majority of the attacks were committed far-right extremist Gavastek Orthodox Church members. The Grand Jury of National Justice was convened in an emergency session early this morning at 07:53 by the Supreme Court of Gavastek, filed under both criminal and civil records. As of now, there is no news as to what is happening inside the deliberation room, only that it is expected within the hour to be a vote on whether or not to open the allowance of the penalty of death toward the perpetrators. As per the Constitution of Gavastek, under section two of the sixth amendment (passed in 2023), the penalty of death may only be "facilitated in the most extreme cases of espionage, treason, or !@#$."

The 65 member Grand Jury is rarely called into action by the Supreme Court of Gavastek, seen as the separation of powers between The Grand Jury and The Supreme Court, as The Grand Jury is the only body allowed under the constitution given power to overturn criminal cases ruled on by the Supreme Court. The nation is expecting the ruling to be swift and bringing of justice to the victims of this horrible attack and their families. The attack is spurring public outcry for a more extensive and harsher anti-hate crime law that would also ensure stronger preventative measures. The nation mourns this tragic event.

Oh man! I'm so sorry to hear this! Any anti-semitic or harm against a certain people's group is absolutely terrible!
