Easter. A time of eggs, bunnies, and candy. But it is something more to us Christians. I personally gave my life to Christ about 8 years ago now if I remember correctly, but it’s only in the recent two or three years of my life that I’ve truly begun to understand what my faith fully entails. I’m not here to preach to you about why you should follow Jesus Christ here and now, but Easter is more time than ever to share my own testimony.
To be honest, my life would be vastly different without my belief in Christ’s death and resurrection, the latter of which is what Easter is. We as Christians celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ, the physical embodiment of God amongst mankind. So one may ask: why the Easter gifts today if it’s a religious holiday? Because Jesus’s death was the greatest gift to us all: a way to get to a perfect place as imperfect people, a bridge built by the blood of an innocent man, son of a holy God. That faith has helped me through the darkest days of my life. Without it, God only knows where I may be now. But I have found peace with God and through the amazing friends I’ve found in church that he has led me to.
I know many who will read this are most likely not believers themselves and I’m not the greatest convincer, but I hope my words have meant something to you. If not, allow me to make this final statement: you individually, no matter what you have done in your life, are loved by an all-powerful God who‘s son died to save you from your sins so that we may all live in paradise once this life is over. My prayer going forward is that He may give you peace in your life and that He may lead you through the days to come. A favorite hymn of mine is entitled It Is Well With My Soul. the first verse reads as this:
”When peace like a river attendeth my way,
When sorrows like sea billows roll
Whatever my lot, thou has taught me to say
It is well, it is well, with my soul”
This means that no matter what you are going through, Jesus walks with you. Happy Easter everyone. May God be with you and may you have peace and prosperity in your lives! 😊
