A little tool I made for democratic roleplayers
TL;DR: Here it is
Hello again everyone,
If you remember my previous bulletin you will know I made a few lines of codes to simulate elections for my nation. A few explanations of the technical aspects are there so you can go read that if you want, I will not explain everything I did here. Tho I will say again that my knoweledge of programming is beginner level, I am aware that the tool can be improved (which I will as I learn more about coding), this tool was done with the little knoweledge from the couple of lessions I've done using python and by looking at what ChatGPT does. Anyways onto the program.
In short: it generates random percentages for as many parties as you'd like.
First it will ask you to provide the number of parties you want to simulate and then will ask you to name each one of them.
After that it will ask to choose (by writing one of the letters) one out of 4 modes:
You click the play button next to the code. It should work both on PC and on mobile, tho it can be a bit annoying on mobile.
You're also free to copy it and plug it in your python program (like Thonny) and run it on that or run it using a linux terminal with "python3" if you prefer to not have to use the internet. If you want to modify it feel free to do it but if you republish it all I ask is that you add me in the credits please.
I want to make it more colorful, give the user more control, for example by allowing people to choose the range of the adjusted percentages (right now it's a fixed 5) or the minimum and maximum turnouts, figure out how to have the invalid input option go back to the mode selection, and also general improvements on the code itself.
