Rimskaya: Farewell Address, Stepping Down as Commsident

Written to The Aequitas International by Augustus Democraticus, with some wording revisions for grammar purposes.

Dear my Comrades of Aequitas,

It has now been nearly 4 months since I launched The Aequitas International alongside Luna, and now, preemptively, I bid a farewell to that leadership position I laid upon myself.

Having seen the ways of other alliances, their totalitarian control of the Orbis community, and how they centered around monarchy, imperialism, and all out warfare and chaos, my father Maximus found himself the growing desire to create an opposition force, to unite the masses of Orbis against this tyranny.

It was then Maximus founded Project: Demeter, with the help of Vulcanities, soon after renamed to Project: Aequitas, named after the Roman Goddess of Fairness. 

This alliance was originally founded on the idea of market regulation, to keep prices to a range where lower states could afford them. Capital in Orbis is infinitely expanding, and therefore prices are as well, however, this capital will inevitably, without intervention, fall into the hands of the ruling factions, further polarizing Orbis.

In time, however, Aequitas grew into something greater. Not just an economic opposition: but a political one. Every conceivable nation that was not aligned to us was against us:

"You'll be dead by Christmas."

"Democracy cannot work in an Orbis alliance."

"Without mandatory Discord your alliance will fall apart."

And yet here we stand, Rank 85 as of now. Admittedly, I never expected Aequitas to get this far, and nor did my father. I pass the reigns of leadership to someone trustworthy no doubt, and have full confidence in Aequitas' future as the ever-rising bastion of democracy in Orbis, and perhaps fulfill her economic ambitions as well.

I would like to thank not just the government for your tireless work in establishing and stabilizing Aequitas, but to the expanding group of nations that are in it, and to our loyal and faithful allies, the start of an upsurgence that not Rose nor The Knights Radiant, nor any other of the top bureaucracies could be prepared for. Any means should be taken to ensure our continued growth as an alliance, and as a movement.

You have all joined a noble and worthy cause my friends. Your place in history shall be forever cemented, if not by your membership alone, then by your colleagues and comrades that stand aside you in this, the greatest endeavor ever undertaken in Orbis history.

I do not say that lightly, even acknowledging my lack of historical knowledge on Orbis. Orbis has limited its notable history to mass warfare and scandals- where do we see such a movement? Nowhere. That comrades, is OUR place in Orbis history: and it's up to YOU to take it.
