A senior Ground Forces commander confirmed reports that the unification on the island of Corsica has been completed.

The commander, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, stated that Ground Forces have established a foothold on Sardegna, and the Air Force has control of the skies. He insisted that the military is merely establishing protection of the islands, and attempting to unify Corsica and Sardegna, and civilians will not be attacked unless the military must defend itself.

This comes 2 months after a daring attack of a Ground Forces base in the Corsican mountains. A rebel group attacked in the dark of night, eventually detonating a bomb near the command center. In total, 21 GF soldiers, and 3 AF members were killed, in addition to the 18 rebels.

Military officials so far have remained silent about any further troop actions.
