PM Petra Novak alongside a general has announced that Lapunto now has ownership of the prebalkan program Duolingo and what it means for the spread of Puntan prominence globally. She also with some hesitance from the Technocratic Council declassified the info about this operation, which means we have a story to tell. To acquire Duolingo, Lapunto had to launch a special military operation into the ruins of the city of Pittsburgh, which housed Duolingo's prebalkan headquarters. Even without leadership, it was only by a miracle that these servers stayed not just unlooted but undamaged, powered and connected to the global internet. But Lapunto had to make sure this service could stay protected, ideally by being relocated to a safer place. The plan, "Operacio Ŝnurbuŝo(Operation Ropemouth)" initially involved delivering the transport equipment to the city through Dauchh Palki's territory, although when Puntan military approached Dauchh Palki with this plan and it's purposes, it was rejected - and when the Puntan military suggested using only air assets to avoid transit on Dauchh Palki's roads, Dauchh Palki threatened to shoot down any plane that violated it's airspace for the purpose of reaching Pittsburgh. Needing to find a new plan, the Puntan military approached the Canadian Federation with the plan and requested permission. They did accept, so this new plan would see the Puntan vehicles be transported to and unloaded at the Port of Toronto before being transported to the Canadian border with the ungoverned territories at Niagra falls than heading South through the prebalkan roads to the city of Pittsburgh. Puntan intelligence on the area updated a week ago and consistently collected on a weekly basis for a year said that there was a regional white nationalist tribes that were eyeing the city for conquest, although luckily not aware of the Duolingo headquarters. The convoy did have to engage a band of tribals outside of Meadville, but resisting a tribe with sophisticated tanks during the winter time with air support was a peice of cake. Aftering reaching deeper into the city, the Duolingo headquarters was found. Unfortunately though, an officer was sniped, which sent the army scrambling to find the threat. Air support took care of them when they were spotted, but after that even more snipers fired, mixed with some people having more sophisticated weapons. 8 more Puntan soldiers were killed and with a javelin, the enemies also took out a Puntan helicopter and 3 armored vehicles. After this, the army really needed to do a scan to ensure the immediate area around the HQ was secured, especially so that the server components could escape unharmed. Once this was done, the building was occupied until the server room was found. Predictably, for the facility to have been safe for so long, the servers were located underground, and even powered by solar panels dated to 2024. The server was mapped to ensure a proper understanding of how to reassemble it, disassembled, and than transported out of the building and loaded onto armored vehicles, tanks, and helicopters. The server components hosting the data for Esperanto courses from any language were given priority and transported on the helicopters. There was one more ambush during the loading, but luckily the only damaged component of the server was the data cartridge holding the data for the French for English speakers course. The convoy travelled back to the border at Niagra falls, before heading further north to the port of Toronto to be loaded back onto a ship headed for Lapunto. Upon arrival in Ĉeftero a facility earlier designated to host the server was assembled and powered. After just 3 days, Duolingo was back online in a different land. From this, Duolingo once a prebalkan program has now become a state owned program of Lapunto. When we asked the government for their intentions with the server, they responded "We are going to make the first edits to Duolingo in decades, and they will be meant to adjust the program to a different world where Esperanto is more prominent. While the general was not so direct, the programmer assigned to edit the program better described that Duolingo's new Puntan leadership would add classes to learn Esperanto from multiple other world languages, but also a class for Esperanto speakers to learn Hush. That particularly is amazing because it will create extra jobs for Huŝujo Suda. It's also a positive that Lapunto might be able to monetize Duolingo, at least via it's own advertisements. But putting aside the economy, better access to Esperanto classes for the global population means that more people may be entranced by the Esperantist ideology of mutual understanding between all peoples without the basis of race. Esperanto defines Lapunto, so this may cause many worldwide to gain interest in Lapunto or at least those who are already interested to have a better resource to use for investing time into the admiration of Esperanto-culture.

A pre-Balkan local indie dev wants to sue you because she claims that she made Duolingo. Since the Republic believes in a right to fair trial, we give her a lawyer. We do not wish to sever any relations with the southern village. However, justice cannot be denied. We wish to see you in court.
