St. Ignace Springs - 31MAY2085

President Bridger officially announced the successful testing and future development of atomic capabilities for the nation of Mackinacora. This marks the first time in the nation's history that atomic energy has successfully been tested and alternative fuel sources have truly been considered.

The nation was founded on the principal of coal energy with intents to convert her cities to clean burning nuclear power. Finally, after multiple attempts, a successful nuclear fission reaction was observed in state-operated research facilities in the city of 'St. Ignace Springs'.

The President gladly announced all cities will be converted to the clean burning nuclear power as soon as possible, Government assistance had been offered to cities that require the funds or expertise required to build, safely maintain and train those who will work inside the plants.

Critics of the President raise concerns over whether the National Military will use this advancement to create nuclear weaponry. The President stated the military must develop nuclear weapons to deter enemies of the state from even the thought of attacking the country. He also stated that the nuclear weapons will not be used without provacation nor against those nations that cannot fight back. Additionally they will only be used as a last resort to protect our homeland or to deliver a final blow to our enemies.
