On Tuesday evening at 9:28pm GMT, a heavily armed man stormed Thorvaldsson General Hospital and began to open fire upon hospital staff and patients. Witnesses say they saw the man gain high speeds with a van and drove into one of the main entrances to the hospital and then got out of the van carrying 2 guns and opened fire. Police identified the shooter as 28 year-old Kyle Lambert, a resident of Holsteinborg. Lambert had been on a Department of Civil Defense red flag watchlist for around 14 months due to multiple threats to Thorvaldsson General Hospital. Police believe the shooter's primary target was his ex girlfriend Sarah Christensen, who was pronounced deceased with multiple gunshot wounds to the chest and head. Sources say that Sarah had ended their relationship after noticing an obsession with terrorism and interest in anti government extremist groups.

Police say the weapons used in the attack were an automatic AK-74 rifle and a MP5 sub-machine gun. Both firearms were unregistered and had close to 390 combined rounds of ammunition in the backpack he carried with him.

The rampage lasted around 46 minutes. City police arrived within minutes but were shot at immediately when they tried to enter the hospital. Police captain Peter Jensen told officers to fall back and wait for S.W.A.T. to arrive. They waited 17 minutes while the rampage continued inside the hospital  before S.W.A.T. arrived. Once S.W.A.T. arrived, they were also shot at. They then used one of their armored trucks to ram into the hospital and then deployed a smoke screen at the entrance which was followed by both S.W.A.T. teams quickly charging the entrance of the hospital. It took all but 3 minutes before the shooter was killed and the rampage was finally over.

President Slayer gave his condolences when asked about the shooting; “Now is not a time for politics. We need to all come together as one people to stay strong during this time of mourning. My heart goes out to all the families and friends of the people that were lost this evening. It is truly heartbreaking that things like this happen but we have to stay strong in these times.” The President will be visiting the memorial tomorrow morning to give his respects to the lives that were lost. A candle vigil took place in a park a few blocks south of where the shooting took place.
