The Capitalites have been in power since the formation of Southshire, but were defeated today in a landslide result for the Working People of Southshire party.

This shock result for the Capitalites has resulted in their leader, Lord Farkburt, resigning as leader of the party and fleeing the country amid a revolution within the party.

The Working Party of Southshire gained an impressive 164 seats in the second sitting of this great and powerful Parliament, sitting now with a majority of 122 seats - almost insurmountable. The Prime Minister, Mr Guiles Pradworth, commenting that this was "an incredible success for [the Working Party of Southshire], and will see the direction of our beloved nation change from that of the richer getting richer and the poorer getting poorer to one of equality for all"

King Kieran invited Mr Pradworth to the Palace of Southshire, where the Prime Minister graciously and gratefully accepted King Kieran's invitation to form a Government in his name, following the downgall of The Capitalites, losing 290 seats.

It was a good election for the Pacifistic Party, climbing 106 seats to 164. In a statement to the media, Mr Turkgils commented that "the success of the Pacifistic party confirms the need for Southshire to remain a leading and powerful nation of The Fighting Pacifists, and the people support this alliance evermore".

The Southshire Loopy Loons, usually a protest vote, nearly doubled their seat total in the election, whilst the People's Power and Revolution, and the Independent Global Southshire Party, both lost ground to their competitors.

It was a good evening as well for independents and minor parties, seeing a 16 seat rise in representation in this session of the great and powerful Parliament.

As Southshire prepares to be taken in a new direction, all eyes will be directed towards Prime Minister Pradworth to see whether he can deliver on his mandate by the nation...

The ruling Social Democratic coalition in the Reichstag congratulates the WPS on their victory and hopes to see legislation in the future of Southshire.
