Caerdydd holds vigil for nuclear explosion as war ends

The vigil has started in Caerdydd Bay, with officials from Maerrunoria and Emrys the Great present.

Emrys the Great said the following:

"War never wins, it never works. That has been proven today. Power used by a politician in the wrong hands caused the death of thousand of our citizens. This is a tragedy that should never have happened.

I have a list of names here. As you can see it's 1083 pages thick. These are the names of those suspected dead from the blast. These were parents, children, brothers, sisters, grandparents, partners, husbands, wives. The list goes on

This is a national tragedy, my apologies goes out to all those who have fallen. This should never have happened.

But there is hope that those who rise against us have at least a very small aspect of morality. The leader of the ARP phoned me earlier, and I can announce he is withdrawing his troops from this country.... our country.

This will not make up for all those lives lost, but it will at least be a start to rebuild our country.

Let us use this minute silence to remember all those lost in what I hope will be the last moments of this dreadful, terrible war.

The latest in is that Matshaa triggered the nuclear explosion. He used a nuclear warhead which is based underneath the city.

Emrys the Great releases the following statement:

"It has become clear in the last few minutes that Matshaa has committed war crimes. This is the largest tragedy we have ever witnessed as a nation. I can only think about those innocent lives that have been shattered today. I will make a more substantial statement tonight at a candlelit vigil we are organising in Caerdydd Bay.

In the meantime, we do not know whether Matshaa is alive or dead, but we will hunt him down. I am therefore announcing, we cannot stay neutral any more. It's time to gain ground on both armies. 

I must therefore announce voluntary conscription. Please help us stop this happening again.

I will be working with Maerrunoria on an action plan shortly.

The Gwlad Emrys Post has verified the latest updates coming in.

It seems a nuclear explosion has happened in Dinas Emrys Central. We have no idea who set it off, or why but that's all we can tell you at the moment.

If this is indeed the case, the vast majority of Westminster, and the armies will have been destroyed, with a death toll of up to 400,000 people.

We have reports coming in of an explosion in central Dinas Emrys, on the front line. We do not have any more details at the moment and cannot verify this but we will keep you updated.

Earlier today, the ARP troops moved in to Westminster itself, with fighting happening outside Parliament.

Emrys the Great, on a visit to a memorial in Caerdydd, called this a "sad day for democracy" and urged the two armies to use "common sense".

There are also rumours that Emrys the Great and Maerrunoria will extend the Demilitarized zone further east later tonight.

ARP captures second city as they progress along the South West. Mono-Halo armies have also made gains against the Sawhists and the ARP in the south east.

The ARP are now at Westminster in Dinas Emrys, with fighting only a few streets away from Downing Street.

"Dear friends of Gwlad Emrys. Thank you for your continued support over the past 48 hours. I am extremely happy to have returned to my country, despite this horrific sound trying to drown me out! 

I have multiple announcements to make. You might have seen/heard that Maerrunorian troops are here. They are to protect you and me, not to invade. So please do not panic at their presence.  

My first big announcment is that Dinas Emrys is no longer the capital city. Yes it is true. I have renamed the capital city to Caerdydd here in Dyfed. This will bring economic prosperity to this area of Gwlad Emrys.

Also I am announcing that Dyfed will have its own regional parliament. Yes. We will build a parliament and we will have elections next week for this parliament. This will show that this country can move on and show democracy!

We are also forming a layer of local government. We will create council areas across Dyfed, each with a Maerrunorian official as Chief Executive, and a democratically elected local council with an elected leader. This will be to continue the development of the area.

We can show the world that we can move on! We will rise past this. We will show the ARP and Sawhists that this war will not affect us. We will not be pulled down by them! We will rise again!!!!"

The ARP reaches outskirts of economic centre as the army converges on the capital. It is unclear how Matshaa will respond, however reports suggest that there is a substantial military checkpoint on Castle Hill.

Mono-Halo's armies are also gaining in the south and has almost met the advancing ARP forces.

In Dyfed Emrys the Great prepares for a landmark speech tomorrow as the final arrangements of the demilitarised zone are completed.

The ARP have captured their first city (Cwmtwrch) from the Sawhist in their latest wave of gains

Meanwhile the combined forces of Halo and Mono have landed and are making gains in the South East.

This comes after Emrys the Great lands in Dyfed and names the area a demilitarized zone. Currently, there are lines of traffic heading towards the Dyfed border checkpoints. It is unclear whether they will be accepted

Following Emrys the Great and Maerrunoria's speech, Arcturus Black has released a statement:

"The bombings of the capital overnight was a horrific accident, meant to target military bases. The Medici Airforce is looking into new ways to ensure civilian safety. 

It is deeply angering that the Maerrunorian government attacks us diplomatically for such an accident while we are the party setting up democracy in our. 

we will win this."

This comes after Dinas Emrys was carpet bombed by ARP airforce overnight, despite stiff resistance from Mono Airforce.

Emrys the Great is expected to return to Dyfed today, however we are reporting a ARP ship heading towards maerrunoria - it is unclear for which purpose.

We are told the ARP Army is encountering stiff opposition around the cities of the South, hampering progress. It is unclear whether the ARP will bypass these cities or attempt to capture them.

Arcturus Black's armies make progress on the South Coast, overnight, capturing key points which will make their journey inland much easier.

Reunited States, Mono and Sawh's armies arrive in the country overnight, will the Reunited States heading to Scotland while Mono and Sawh join the capital's army to protect the city.

The Reunited States, Draks and Mono have pledged support for Gwlad Emrys, including military support. This comes as missiles by Maerrunoria damage key infrastructure including docks seemingly run by the ARP

The disputed President of Gwlad Emrys Matshaa has announced war after warships run by Arcturus Black are seen heading towards the South Coast.

In a statement, Matshaa said:

"If we do not defend our nation, it will be destroyed by anti growth countries. Arcturus Black is one of these. He wants our country to fail. Rise up. Support my and chaos will not come to the country."

The ARP Leader Arcturus Black has also made a statement:

"It is time. The ARP is rising against the government. People of Gwlad Emrys, support us. Come to the capital. We will storm Westminster and show that Matshaa does not belong at the head of Gwlad Emrys' table".

It is unclear how many people will heed this statement.

The last time a uprising happened was 2060, when the Merlinism Party was defeated. This however ended up with 3,000,000 civilian casualties and many are wondering whether the people will follow calls for an uprising, especially with these events in living memory.

Currently, there is traffic on the main road out of the South West of the country, as people flee the incoming conflict. The question is, will Gwlad Emrys be the same country in 24 hours.
