Rimskaya's First Election to Commissar Begins!

In an unprecedented turn of political events, Commissar Maximus Democraticus has announced, with approval from the Legislature, that he is planning to step down as Commissar after ruling Rimskaya since the Revolution, more than 60 years ago. The election is set to start, effective immediately, and without any real prior planning, is set to run until the start of 2024.

Also on the ballot is the decision of how frequently we will hold such elections. As Democraticus has run the country since its inception, there was never any prior thought into this sort of term limit. This is an open response, and voters may choose as pleased.

That said, the following candidates are the set ones to run for the position. Their imagery, per Rimskayan law, are kept confidential:

Salvator Dorokov

A native Russian, Dorokov was one of the founding members of the Rimskayan Revolutionary Committee (R.R.C.), Rimskaya's current ruling party (and- only party). As such, he is very much a hardcore Marxist, believing firmly in International Revolution through armed means. His campaign promises are as follows:
 

-Restoration of Rimskaya into a bastion of Democracy and Socialism.

-Overdrive recruitment into the army.

-Expanding the Revolutions through global intervention in civil conflict.

-Run Aequitas as a Democratic alliance though remove access to dictatorships, fascists, and to a certain degree, Capitalists.

Ellanor Huntington

An immigrant from the long-lost nation of Communist Britain, Huntington is also a firm believer in Communism, though advocates a far more forceful approach to it in terms of application, possibly due to the generally condemned fact Communist Britain actively used Nuclear Bombs. Her campaign promises are as follows:

-Rebuild the country from the previous wars

-Commence an immediate overhaul and expansion of the armed forces and consider repealing the ban on defensive nuclear weapons.

-Invade weaker rivals and institute Communist governments run by local officials.

-Support Communist networks in other countries.

-Turn Aequitas into a Socialist faction at least in part.

Augustus Democraticus

What? You didn't think The Commissar had no family, did you? Though adopted, as his father was never married, Augustus is the only son of Maximus Democraticus. He aims at carrying on his father's Revolutionary legacy in Rimskaya, though ensuring the country does not lose its ties to history. His campaign promises are as follows:

-Restore the state before looking back to the world stage/Consolidate all occupied territorial claims.

-Keep armed forces intact, but to a strictly defensive guideline, except in cases agreed upon by the people for intervention.

-Continue running Aequitas as it is now.

-Reteach the ideas of Marx, Trotsky, among other early Communists to the Rimskayan people via their writings and lectures and helping connect their thinking to the events of the day as a means of explaining them and debunking the nonsensical lies of Corporatism.

-Raise the living standards of the common people immediately. They have been left in impoverished conditions after the wars, and that can never be tolerated within Rimskaya's borders.

Voting will mainly be for the people to decide upon, but just in case, it is encouraged that foreign nations place their input and votes: Just in case we need a tie breaker.
