Dear Comrades,

A glorious day for Rimskaya! In the world of our over bearer, we have now stood strong in Orbis for two long, hard years. Against all adversity, warfare, nuking, slander, and hatred on scales that are straight up appalling, we are still here. You can practically hear the tyrants rolling in their graves.

I would like to thank the following for their services to the country in these times of adversity, as we look to a future of uncertainty, but light...

First the Rimskayan Revolutionary Council. They managed to wrangle the country together during the Rimskaya Tri-Fold War against The Hive, and secured what in our book at least, was victory and security. They have since then become an official party, with a majority in the Rimskaya Legislature, and unprecedented support from the people for their actions to save the country. Whilst down here in UnRoma, they have done all they can to restore the hope of the population and make life down here as tolerable as they can. The surface world is almost ready for our return, and we shall greet the light of the Sun again with happiness and jubilee.

Second, I wish to thank the Armed Forces, an army of the people, out defending us as much as they can from those who seek our destruction. Receiving more state-of-the-art weaponry every year, they perhaps may not be the most powerful force on the planet, but in terms of resilience, they are above almost all else in history. Though they have become very hard to maintain since we created Aequitas and started facing more wars, they continue to guard the borders and ensure the land of Rimskaya be safe from all those who dare strike her.

Internationally, I would like to thank all those who have stood by us, even if they don't anymore for whatever reason they could compile or have forced upon them. They protected us as we protected them, even in the strangest of scenarios. And of course, such a discussion would never be complete without mentioning our closest all, Luna, who have joined us in Aequitas as the Second in Command in place of RoManic. We will never leave Orbis so long as we can, and they are there as a success story for all those who have been harmed by this world of perpetuate nuclear winter.

Finally, I would like to thank you, the People of Rimskaya. You have demonstrated the upmost determination to never surrender to the enemy. In times of hardship, you pick up your tools, and if necessary, your arms, and are willing to defend the Revolution to the last man. There is no greater devotion I have seen in the world so far. The Revolution has yet to fully succeed, and Aequitas seeks to have no direct place in it. Nevertheless, the idea of a united force of commoners is brand new here in Orbis, and we shall be the first to achieve it. Never give up, my fellow Rimskayans.

Glory to the state is inevitable, and infamy is the only destiny of tyranny over Orbis. It could be months, it could be years- and perhaps I, your first and only Commissar thus far, may not even be alive to see it. That said, so long as I am here, I will fight alongside you, in the diplomatic meeting room as well as the field of battle. Rimskaya will not let destiny be presented to it: It shall forge it on her own.

Here's to many more years of our country- born from Revolution, bound for Internationalism. URA!!!

(Out of RP): Wow. I actually am amazed to be here typing this. I really didn't expect to make it this far, yet here I am, sitting at my desk typing these very keystrokes. I'm at a loss for words myself, so rather, if you're up for the read, I wrote a short fable last night. Here it is, hope you like it:

The Spirits and the Sprites

A Modern Fable

There once was a world of two types of beings: Spirits and Sprites. The Sprites were the common people, who lived regular lives in their little villages scattered throughout their small world. They tried to live in peace, though it was often difficult for them to make ends meet and cooperate. This was in part due to the Spirits. The Spirits were guardians of their specific groups of Sprites. They often feuded with each other and pitted each other’s Sprites against one another. The Spirits themselves hadn’t fought in a long time, since the last time they did it caused mass destruction, and since then, some of them had learned powers that, when set against one another, could destroy the whole little world.

There were many of these Spirits: A Bear who boasted about being strong when he really was just loud, a Tortoise who talked of class and how he was once the most powerful Spirit, now little more than a puppet, a Parrot who spoke of conservation of the forest his Sprites lived in whilst turning a blind eye to those destroying it right in front of him, among others.

But the two most powerful Spirits, were the Eagle and the Dragon.

The Eagle was once a noble, honest creature, who did his best to develop his Sprite community into a model state. After the first Great Spirit War however, he was corrupted by power and desire for control. He became bloodthirsty, and unrelenting, with the secret desire to rule all the Spirits and Sprites, using his little “friendship” group he called the Great Northern Spirit Faction (G.N.S.F.), which was really more of him controlling other Spirits with the illusion of their own rule.

The Dragon was the Eagles ultimate rival. They did have their Sprites trade with one another, but more often than not they argued and bickered. The Dragon, one of the oldest and wisest of the Spirits, was known for believing in control and protection of his Sprites, though wasn’t always the best at it. This was at odds with the Eagle, who promoted a message of freedom to the world that mirrored a wish for anarchy, despite his clear grip on a sizeable amount of power, and his yearning for more. These Spirits, as well as others, told their Sprites of how terrible the rule of their “enemies” was, and how they must be ready to fight at any moment, despite the obvious knowledge such a fight would doom everyone.

Then, disaster struck. Many Sprites, across the villages, began to fall to a mysterious illness. The first cases were in the Dragon’s lands, and the world soon blamed him for what was happening. The Dragon, with little more a friend than the Chilloma, even more hated than himself by the world, sought to protect his Sprites, though was flawed in doing so. He tried to isolate the infected, and treat others, but his methods of stopping the spread were seen by the other Spirits as tyrannical and inhumane, and they cut him off almost entirely from the rest of the world. Some even threatened to fight the Dragon, none more so than the Eagle, knowing if he defeated the Dragon, the world would be his, if there was any of it left. But he didn’t care about the destruction and mass death of the Sprites: he only cared about the dream of killing the Dragon and his friends, and the fame and riches he could pillage off of them for his own gain.

Things only got worse, when one day, the Bear decided to attack a small village, ruled by a Nightingale. The Nightingale was portrayed by the Eagle’s coalition of Spirits as being a bulwark of democracy, and a heroic symbol of resistance, when in reality, the Nightingale took the opportunity to crack down on opposition to his rule, purging the Sprites of the Bear who lived in his lands, and the whole region taught their Sprites to hate those of the Bear, when the Bear’s Sprites had done nothing wrong- if they disobeyed, they faced severe punishment from the Bear. Then, the Bear and Dragon started to conversate about protecting themselves, as the Eagle and his alliance were common enemies of the two.

All the while, the disease was still prevalent, however, every Spirit but the Dragon had given up trying to fight it, leaving it to harm and kill their Sprites endlessly, hiding rising infection numbers to give an illusion of nothing being wrong, and telling them to “get over it”. The Dragon did his best to keep his people safe but found himself under rising pressure from the other Spirits to abandon his policies of protection for those of their recklessness and return to “normality” amidst the greatest catastrophes their world had seen in decades, and a push of their villages closer to total warfare.

Finally, the Dragon began to give up hope, and in the end, bowed to the deathly ways of his rivals. His Sprites, however, were very displeased with this change, and so they began to riot. The Eagle, aware his people didn’t know the truth of the Dragon’s relaxation yet, again used these events to his advantage, saying that the people under Dragon were fed up with his policy of protection, and that they demanded it be ended, when in reality, it was the exact opposite.

Finally, things began to fall apart. The Dragon found his Sprites to be in almost total rebellion. The Eagle was about to proclaim victory and strike at the Dragon with his world-ending power, when suddenly, he found that his Sprites had been so polarized by the outside world and decisions within from his corruption, that they had begun a war amongst themselves. With his Sprites divided, the Eagle became weak and powerless.

Amongst the chaos, some Sprites under the Eagle realized what most others had not: The Spirits had only been there dividing the Sprites, making them hate each other, and using contemporary events as bait for them to fight. They had dumbed them down to the point where they took their word for anything, making them too lazy to care about thinking or analyzing what they were saying in context of history or logicality, not even morality. But how would they spread such a message, when the Spirits would write it off as deranged and unrealistic? It was easier than they thought, for in time, the other Sprites came to understand the same. They concluded that the Spirits didn’t care about them: they only cared about preserving their authority and power, whatever the cost may be: And they were willing to start Armageddon to do it.

From there, it was complete revolution. The Spirits frantically fought to protect their thrones from the masses of Sprites rebelling against their rule of tyranny and deception, untied as a global force. The war was hard, and many lives were indeed lost, but rather than being lost for Imperialist degeneracy, they were lost in honor and valor, defending the future of their friends and families across their world. In the end, the Spirits were all defeated one by one. Eventually, only the three mightiest stood left: The Eagle, the Dragon, and the Bear. The Bear fell first, his Sprites having revolutionary fervor unlike any other community, and established a union of peoples, free and willful, but aware of need for protection in times of crisis. The Dragon went next, his people already knowing the necessary elements for their society and forging one of the most glamorous of the new world states. He decided to end himself with dignity, surrendering himself to the Sprites, before going up in a fury of flames.

All that remained was the Eagle, broken and bashed, bleeding the blood of all those he took it from over the years. He looked at a united world of Sprites, armed and ready to take their destiny into their own hands. He breathed one last accursed breath, warning them,

“Your new world is hopeless. Your very nature will not allow for such a civilization to exist. Your dreams of perfection are unreal. Your wishes are impossible. You have thrown an existing and functioning order into disarray and turmoil, and you shall reap the consequences”.

From there, though, he saw rise in the center of the Sprites, a new Spirit, not like those of the past states, but a different one: A universal one, that seemed to encompass all the former Spirits into himself, with the appearance of a Sprite. The last thing the Eagle heard was this new Global Spirit’s reply:

“Your old world was hopeless. Your very nature would not allow for such a civilization to continue. Your dreams of power are unreal. Your wishes are atrocious. You had thrown a world of commoners into dysfunctionality, thinking it could continue indefinitely. Now YOU shall reap the consequences”.

And with that, the Global Spirit took a hammer sheathed in fire, and struck the dying Eagle straight off the surface of their world into the stars, never to be seen again.

The world slowly but surely recovered. The Global Spirit led a government of all the Sprites, elected by them to a global council of all the former communities. They traded, worked, and lived free and happy together as one people, without fear of the old Spirits starting wars or destroying their homes. It wasn’t perfect, and never would be…

But it was certainly better than anything the old Spirits would have been willing to offer.

The End.

You are a wonderful ally and a true friend to everyone here in Luna. We are so grateful to have you here, standing beside us. In our hardest times, you were there to support us, in the best times, to celebrate our victories together. Congratulations on this anniversary, and we truly appreciate you.

- President Cressida Arpina

Out-of-RP: Congratulations!! While I may not have been playing for nearly as long as you, I'm truly glad you're here, as a friend and ally to me both in and out of RP. There have been times where I've been on the verge of leaving and you've just been there to support me — sometimes I think I may have left the bulletin RP community or even P&W as a whole without your kind words and support. Honestly, everyone jokes about this alliance, and I've been asked at times why I choose to remain allied with you no matter the difficulties we face, but I'm glad for what we have here despite all of that. So, well, thank you, congratulations, and I hope to see many more Rimskayan anniversaries to come!

All in all, you’ve made PnW that bit more interesting, it wouldn’t be a fun game if everyone was like Rose.

I‘ll see you next raid 😉
