It had been so long since he walked the streets of Novogo Rima this much. The city looked so different- in that it was so peaceful. In his mind were all the memories of the city, and all others of Rimskaya, being torn to shreds by missiles, napalm, diseases, among other calamities, and these same streets littered with the response teams and military.

Now, they were calm, dark in the night except for the buildings, streetlights, and the occasional passing car. This was one of the quieter sides of town, a place he heard was once known as Curtis Hixon Park (Who or what Curtis Hixon was he didn't know, and probably never will), on The Greater Severnaya Dvina River. Across it was the University of Novogo Rima, which had been there for hundreds of years, and looked like something out of Moscow. On his side of the river, a futuristic looking art museum, and the wreckage of another museum, destroyed by a smaller missile.

All the noise, and the tanks and fighter jets, gone to a place he knew not of. Even Dreemurr, called upon by the National Government to fight The Chaos Insurgency all those years ago, had departed Rimskaya to find his own purpose in the world. It seemed as if Rimskaya had never tried anything special in life, save for the propaganda on some buildings, and the fact everyone was- different than before.

He wasn't a fan of the news, even after the reports from the city station had almost completely stopped. While it was biased, it was one of the most truthful news in the world, aware of its bias, yet still able to disprove using facts, evidence, and reasoning. But like every other channel, all it told was bad in the world, and of this supposed "saving day" when it would all turn in favor of Rimskaya and her allies. So, he didn't listen to it except when he was bored. Now, he found himself listening to a report he hadn't heard of in a long time:

Rimskaya National Government Announces Remilitarization Plan!

Commissar Democraticus has officially announced that Rimskaya will be beginning a long process to wake up the armed forces and prepare for something new. While he has refused to disclose any particular dates, he says

"We hope to have Rimskaya back on the world stage by 2084 or 85."

The plan comes amidst the government also trying to revive the long-awaited Aequitas as a means of rallying her now sparse allies, as well as increasingly open remarks to pre-rescindance territorial claims being "legitimate and irrevocable".

Now this was interesting. But what could the National Government have planned? After being hurt for so long, he figured that the state would refuse to do bidding with any other Capitalist and Imperialist powers. It seemed however, that Rimskaya was bent on staying active in the world. Perhaps that was key to the International Revolution, he supposed.

He then heard a sound he had not heard in some time. It started in low, but grew with a rapid pace, until there it was.

A group of 2079 Grom-1 State-of-the-Art Fighter Jets, roaring over the city. People had opened their windows and doors to see them, in a pattern atop the skyline, as they flew south towards the tip of the peninsula. This was followed by transport planes, more than anyone could hope to count, filling the skies as if it were The Blitz.

Not so far off, Democraticus stood from his bedroom balcony, looking out at his air fleet heading towards the Caribbean. His Minister of Foreign Affairs knocked and came in, asking if Democraticus was certain of the date of return.

"I don't expect us to be ready until then, perhaps not even then. But that said, there is no other fitting day. When the cold of Winter first blows, then we make our strike."

"And if our enemies become suspicious of us between now and then?"

"It was probably just The Wind."
