The 28th State Bureau of Investigations called in a special witness to provide a testimony late in today’s deliberation regarding the 28th state rep. and the accusation of being the spearhead of budgeting fraud. This witness was a suspect but was placees in witness protection stating they were forced into this position. The witness claims they were “bribed then (I) was forced into pushing this error through.” This witness’ position will remain redacted for the purpose of this case and their safety. This witness was one of many involved in “overlooking” the gross error and pushing it through to the top to get kicked back; then later causing a “delay”. This was all apart of a speculated plot to shovel “extra” money into the state workers fund for the end of the 2022 fiscal year. This is only allowed under special circumstances and once per 4-year term. This has happened only two other times before the nation was established. The state rep.’s attorney Michael Gerard said he would like to escalate this to the U.S. Supreme Court due to the “conniving” move by the State Bureau of Investigations. The attorney call this live unlawful as it was brought up without proper notification. The States attorney rebutdtaled with the fact that the move is lawful in criminal cases to bring in damning evidence the would not be otherwise freely given up by the defendant. Gerard states that his defendant would have given up any information while under oath as they “have a duty to serve the public and would do so in any way, including this case.” The district judge is petitioning to have this case escalated due to a potential conflict of interest with a state legislator being called to the stand and the accusations between the parties attorneys. The case is placed on recess until the Supreme Court decides if they will pick up the case on Friday.
