[REDACTED] strikes once more.

Mere days after the bombs hit Luna, while Cydonia is still in a state of ruin, as a worldwide crisis begins to erupt...

Something has come from the darkest parts of the nation.

Something has been awakened once more.

They thought they could bring it down. In fact, after it was seen in the woods, after one man vanished in search of his brother -- risen from what they all thought was death -- they thought they had brought it down.

But, no, it wasn't gone. Only... in hiding.

Not hiding, really. It was imprisoned in the Cyllene Mountains, just north of Cydonia. And the destruction of Cydonia freed it from its prison. And to the city it went. To the city where all things burned, where the last survivors had been evacuated. Where everything was ash and flame, and bodies lay there, their last dying screams frozen in the now-cooled molten rock that had erupted from the ground.

And now, it sees the death and destruction that had been rained down upon the city, and it consumes that destruction. It feeds off of the ash and the radiation and the rubble, but more so the energy, the life that had been lost in the disaster.

And with that energy, it grows stronger, bigger, faster -- everything it used to be before its imprisonment, before they took its power.

But it is not satisfied by the deaths of the people of Cydonia; it needs its next target to grow to its full strength, to bring them to their knees they way they did to it all those centuries ago.

And it sees its target.

The bombs destroyed the surface of Eden's Gate. The people may still live, underground, but those who were on the surface are all gone.

And the destruction is its to consume.

It will not come yet. But they will know when it does. They will feel it, even if they do not know what it is. They will know that their reign of terror above it will come to an end. Because humanity will fall to its wrath someday, and that day will be coming soon.

But for now, a single owl flies above the ruins of Eden's Gate, peculiarly unaffected by the radiation. 

It calls once, exactly at midnight.

And the people, in their bunkers, may not know what is happening on the surface, but they will see, when they emerge, perhaps. If it chooses to exact its revenge upon them, too. 

But all it knows is vengeance -- that humanity will see its end at its hands.
