National Policies (Not including state laws)

General Freedoms

• Freedom of Speech - Freedom of speech is completely unrestricted with the exception of blasphemy, which can result in a ₡5,000 fine.
• Freedom of Religion - All citizens have the complete right to practice their own religions, although, the government does subtly encourage Christianity.
  
  Substance Laws
• Legal drinking and smoking age - 22 years of age
• Cannabis - Anyone over the age of 22 can possess a maximum of 2 ounces of cannabis, although only government approved sellers and farms can produce and sell cannabis.
• Cigarettes - Only herbal cigarettes are permitted for production by licensed individuals and sale to anyone over 22 with ID proof. Violation of law is a class A misdemeanor and can result in up to a ₡10,000 fine and 1 year in county jail.
• Cigars - All cigars are legal for production by licensed individuals and sale to anyone over 22. Violation of this law is a felony and can result in up to 10 years in federal prison.
• E-Cigarettes - All e-cigarettes are banned from production, sale, and consumption. Violation of this law is a felony and can result in up to 10 years in federal prison.
• Hard Drugs - All hard drugs are prohibited from production, sale, and consumption. Violation of this law is a felony and can result in up to 15 years in federal prison.
• Alcohol - Alcohol production by licensed individuals and sale to anyone over 22 is legal. 0.05% or higher blood alcohol content level is considered legally intoxicated. Violation of this law is a felony and can result in up to 20 years in federal prison.
• DUI - Operating any vehicles under the influence of any of these substances can land you in up to 20 years in federal prison with a felony on your record. 
  
  Mandatory Service
• Mandatory Service - Everyone who turns 22 years of age, male or female, must either serve 2 years in the military or do community service for 4 years (Exception: If someone has been accepted into collage then this is only mandatory after they graduate with only half the time, otherwise, it is mandatory for all who have graduated HS and is over 22)
  
  Legal Punishments
• Capital Punishment - Legal for all crimes where the victim(s) has been murdered.
• Torture - If someone who is guilty of a crime which involved torturing (a) victim(s), the same method of torture will be inflicted onto them with few exceptions such as $exual torture.
  
  Children and Reproduction
• Abortion - All abortion is illegal, regardless of circumstances. Doctors and women who preform/have illegal abortions can be charged with 1st degree murder with up to a 20 year sentence in federal prison and pay up to a ₡200,000 fine.
• Reproduction Between Disabled Peoples - Reproduction between any person with moderate to severe mental or physical genetic disabilities is illegal can result in a ₡150,000 fine, although, the baby will not be aborted in any circumstance. 
• Adoption - Only straight couples can adopt children, and all same-$ex couples are prohibited from adoption.
• Circumcision - Parents have the right to circumcise their infant boys, if they so chose. 
  
  Voting Qualifications
• Must be 20 years of age or older
• Must have graduated high school 
• Must provide ID and high school diploma at polling place
• Cannot have a crime greater than a Class A Misdemeanor on record
• Must pass three 20 question tests, one on Cascadian history, one on recent world history, and one on pre-balkan world history
• Must have lived in the Dominion of Cascadia for over 5 years
• Must be able to name and describe all 13 Amendments of the Cascadian Bill of Rights
• Must do the Dominion Pledge whilst facing the flag of the Dominion with hand on heart before being allowed to go into the voting booths
   
  Marriage
• Minimum Age to get Married - 18 years of age
• Same-$ex Marriage - Marriage is only defined between a man and a woman, same-$ex marriage is illegal 
• Polygamist Marriage - Marriage can only be between two people, polygamy is illegal
  
  Gun Control
• Minimum age to own a firearm - 20 years of age
• To Own a Handgun - Must pass a mental evaluation and have a clear record
• To Own a Rifle or Shotgun - Must pass a mental evaluation and have a training license and a clear record
  
  Gambling
• Local Casinos - Operating a casino is illegal and a violation could lead to a fine of up to ₡100,000
• Online Casinos - Operating an online casino is illegal and a violation could lead to a fine of up to ₡50,000
• Sports Betting - Sports betting is completely legal and unrestricted
