Rimskaya was welcome to hear the new government in Nova Mundus, the numbers of which are probably catching up to the number of flags they've had, are willing to forge a better relation to the Rimskayan state. Whilst they do maintain a minor ideological difference, Democraticus met the news with jubilee, proclaiming "The sun shall rise tomorrow on civilian planes departing for Nova Mundus instead of fighter jets."
Even the R.R.C. met the news with celebration, as this meant one less country combatting Rimskaya's Revolutionary ideals and just another country that we can try to be friends with. However, some are speculating as to the developments. Was it a Rimskayan inside-job to instate a pro-Novogo Rima Government? Is it all an elaborate rouse? Did someone feed the Mundusian Government so many cookies until they all went lop-sided? Currently no one knows, but it seems not many care either, and everyone is eager to journey to the long-antagonized state.
In other news, there have been rumors of a group in the former Floridian capital city of Tallahassee, now little more than a small town, that is plotting a secession movement to establish a Nationalist state in the north of Rimskaya. All things considered, this has been taken as a credible threat to our national security and sovereignty, and troops have been dispatched northward to address the possible insurrectionists.
There has also been talk in the Government of the formation of a new elite military unit. This unit, unlike the rest of the Rimskayan military, will not carry modern firearms, or for that matter, guns at all. As part of a growing movement to restore some old traditions from our roots in Ancient Roman culture, this unit is designed as a Roman Legion, made up of similar numbers, weapons, and armor, with a few changes to meet modern combat (ex. shields and armor are given a layer or 2 of Kevlar to make them bulletproof). The Legion is set to be named, after a historical legion of the Imperial Roman Army, Legio I Minervae, under the emblem "Librae" and will mainly serve as a Commissarial Guard, only being dispatched in high intensity situations, and in terms of rank is only out-classed by the Anomalous-Response Mobile Task Force "Double-Edged Sword". Speaking of them, D-E.S has not been seen or heard of in a couple months, after being dispatched to the Mongolian/Central-Asian Steppe to investigate some local reports of Anomalous activity. A reinforcement force is being prepared in near-top-secret conditions, and is set to try and retrieve the task force in the coming days.
