Is it time to start growing food? Asteria imports another 200 ton of food.

Asterian Government imported 200 tons of food, expected to last the next 12 days, for 32,000ER. 

Opposition of the ruling party has pushed for resource independence recently and has often spoken about increasing quality of life of individuals recently, opposing the 'extremely expensive' child care schemes which have been increasing population greatly recently. 

It said Asteria should move to complete independence and increase land and inhand mining, alongside a reduction in 'incentives' that are promoting such high rates of growth at the moment.

The President, MadamAredith, said 'the life lived within requires trade of resources internationally' and self sufficiency will 'not be efficient on the whole scale'. She stressed the economic growth seen in the last month which has seen the economy return to 70% of pre war levels, and stated 'it would not be possible if we didnt consider Asteria as a whole and just certain matters such as resource independence' 

The opposition has stated an embargo would cause great issues for Asterians which the President said was "very unlikely" and expressed confidence in Serpentis. However she also said she 'recognized the issue ' and 'to address it we will build stockpiles of food to use in emergency".
