MAIN STORY: Dark Times Centennial Pt. 2!

Our main catastrophe tonight is a continuation of our celebration of the Dark Times Centennial. This occasion marks 100 years since the passing of the Dark Times and entrance into an era of prosperity. Last week we ended our story at the beginning of what is called The Battle of Future. Our king, Vivex IV was roaring and ready to give battle and chase to our foe, The Marese, a rival group who had also broken off from the traditional Roman Pantheon. 
… the battle had commenced. Immediately archers from each side flung volley after volley of arrows while the two main assault forces crashed into each other like two primordial forces of nature. The forces were near even in count and skill, and each had powerful kings. The battle raged on for hours upon hours. Then days upon days. Then Months. Finally, this one battle would be ended, along with the war, nearly three months after its beginning. The victor was clear and obvious. The Marese had whipped the Vulcan-loyal troops and sent them home staggering, lifeless, and leaderless. The King had died three days before the war's end. A flaming arrow hit his strategy tent where Vivex, and four other key strategists and generals, all died. Vivex IV never produced an heir so the title of King was placed on the next in line which would be Vivitrous I, the old king's younger brother. Vivitrous was a man of virtue, peace, and religion. What he inherited was madness, violence, and anarchy. The future people of Vulcanities were scattered and hopeless. The recent Treaty of Fate reduced Vulcanties from a bustling Kingdom to a tiny town. Our land mass had been cut by two thirds and many people were swallowed up by the Marese war machine. These people who had previously been citizens of Vulcanities were now meager slaves of the Marese. A proud people had been laid waste to and the road out seemed to have vanished into thin air.   

For 113 years after 802 A.D (What historians assume to be the end of the war and the signing of the Treaty of Fates) the Vukar line kings would continue to lose power. Eventually Vivitrous III was forced to abdicate and the small area Vulcanties inhabited was thrown into a maddening state of violence and war. This would mark the beginnings of the Dark Times. The Dark Times are very similar to the Chinese Warring States Period, in that they both are a bloody time of violence and division. It differs only in the fact that Vulcanties was prospectively puny compared to China even at that time. Vulcanties entered a time of feudalism, little to no scientific advancement, and darkness. Unlike Europe the people of Vulcanties found it hard to break the cycle of war and insanity. These Dark Times brought to end hope as it was. Or so it was thought.

Nearly 800 years later in 1758 a small poor boy in the village of Nazgreth, a village that would later become the 2nd city of Vulcanties, was born. This boy's given name is lost to time, but time still remembers him by another name, The Great King of Vulcan. During this time the Dark Times were still raging but people were starting to see the signs. In his remarkable speech, Vulcan High Priest Vesva XVI stated this; “there must come a time when a man chooses manhood over animal spirits, and I feel the time comes upon us soon. Like an unavoidable wave it must come. The wave shall splash and spray us out of our resounding misery. I hear the voices of Vulcans’ servants, and all say that this is true. The Dark Times end soon!” The Great King was adopted by a rich noble family where he pursued power. The king of the Kingdom he was living under died a while later leaving no heirs. However, The Great King and the old king built a bond and trustworthy relationship and by the time he had died, The Great King was named heir to the throne. Then began the mightiest crusade of pureness against the evils of darkness. None could stand in the way and two centuries later the grandson of The Great King who went by the name Vulca I (the namesake of our current day monarch) would unite the old territories of The Kingdom of Vulcan. The Kingdom was officially reunited in 1979. This would become the end date for The Dark Times and the beginning of another prosperous era. The Kingdom had much to content with though and the Kingdom would start to collapse once again. New ideas were being thought of again and Vulcanities began to industrialize. It was one of the latest to do so but after the discovery of vast amounts of iron and coal Vulcanities jump started and rapid growth began. 

The good times ended as soon as they had begun, though. The death of King Vulca I would lead to a bloody three-way civil war of inheritance, ideology, and blood. The war would last from 1993-1996, a grueling three year long civil war. The three sides were clear, the democratic nationalist, the oldest son Vulca II, and the younger son Wevna I. The nationalist would take control of the capitol after winning a bloody three-way war in which it was every side for themselves. Wevna I was decapitated in battle by a close friend and general. Vulca II was captured and tortured by Wevnas side during the battle. He would be released only to be transferred to the nationalist who would imprison him. The imprisonment lasted 3 weeks after which negotiations were opened. The nationalist had their 3 generals and their families hanged and burned with some of the women being taken as spoils of war. Thankfully they escaped unharmed. The leader of the nationalist had his eyes gouged and was paralized permanently. All suffered devastating losses and the atrocities suffered in the civil war is one that is still felt by many today as it is responsible for the lack of ethnic diversity within Vulcanties as ethnic groups were targeted by all sides openly. Thankfully Vulcanities no longer does this and has openly welcomed minority groups for many years now. 

After the brutal civil war, the nationalist started to rebuild and Vulcanities became stronger than ever. A gleaming statue of awe-inspiring beauty was erected in the capitol to show the transformation. Made entirely out of Steel, our nation's primary export, the statue is a giant soldier that has a shirt made with the emblems of the three different sides. On the feet you will find tens of thousands of letters to those who have died. The statue was given the name, Steely Vulc, by the locals and it has stuck. It is reelin in the years, though, as the statue has started to rust despite the best efforts of the government. Many other grand things were created not all purely residing in the physical beauty of the world. They created a glorious constitution and set about the reforms that the Vulcanities political system would hold. It had been pure stability for many years, and all had prospered and grown.

However, once again the good times failed. The nationalist started having odd aspirations. Eventually a terrible evil settled across the land of Vulcanties. By the year 2067 the High Priest Kavex II had declared the constitution void and the nation of Vulcanties a theocracy under the rule of the monarch. This was just a ruse as the monarch was used as a figurehead for the priest's rule. Mass persecutions began with open attacks in the streets. Thankfully an army was amassed and a three-day battle began in The Holy Tomb that ended in victory for the old government. Many were changed by this experience, though, and a temporary government was made from 2076-77 in which its key purpose was to establish order once again. It was not exactly the smoothest piece of machinery, but it did the job. By 2077-78 The Kingdom of Vulcanties was officially established. Shortly after, this was changed to The Holy Kingdom of Vulcanities in honor of the nation's roots. The new Vulcanities has inspired hope in many of its people as it comes near to its almost 3rd year and many people have hope yet that this new government will succeed where others have not. In fact, my job relies on it.

OPINION: FIGHTS OF THE ROUND TABLE! (Pt.2) 

[Camera zooms back in on the hyped crowd and the two contestants.]

Riter: Well Puri, that was a stunning performance. Next up is our second contestant Mr. Covunec if you would please prepare yourself. Alright you look ready. Your 6o seconds starts… now!

Covunec: Vivex IV was a historically bloodthirsty king. Any man who’s only agenda is to go to war with everyone and conquer the world must be out for blood. Nothing would stop them from achieving their goals of supremacy. That includes his peace-loving father and his in-the-way older brother. They both died too conveniently. The timing was too on point for Vivex IV. A man who, let's remember, is only interested in war. Now my proponents say it is disease that took the King and heir but for starters there has been no evidence shown. Actually, the very fact that there is no evidence of bodies proves my very point that they were killed in a harmful and violent way. Even if it was a disease would it not be a stretch to say that this may have been medieval bio-assassination. Vivex could have just dropped a sick servant in their rooms and that would be the end of it. There are twenty different arguments one could pose against that violent man. It is even said he may have killed his own wife. Rumors are just rumors sometimes but when there are so many of them about one person at some point you have to wonder how much of it is true. I think it may be 90% if not 100% true. Thank You! [bows] 

Riter: Nice argument there. Well, only one person can go home a winner and that person is… drumroll please… Dr. Puri, congratulations! Mr. Covunec please find your way to the exit. 

[Two burly security men walk in and grab his arms. He is dragged out]

Covunec: NOOO000000oooooooo

Riter: By now. 

Puri: So, what’s my prize?

Riter: A dollar

Puri: Nice

Riter: We’re gonna tax it 80% though

Puri: I knew it was a scam!

Riter: Oh well. Anyway, folks that’s our show have a great rest of the day!

ECONOMY REPORT

It's time for the weekly extravaganza accomplished by no other than the PARSEDEAN EMPIRE!!! Stop throwing those flowers and confetti. Anyways, let's get on with that sweet cash 🤑🤑🤑 report.

First is, Iron? Since last week, the price of Iron HAS NOT changed from its price of $2600

Next is Munitions, with a $100 decrease to $1800

Then we have Gasoline, with a $100 decrease back to $2800

Coal has a $100 increase, currently at $2700

And Oil, has increased by, what? $300!! It now sits at $2700.

MOVING ON!!!🥱

Uranium has dropped $500 since last week, staying at its prime price, $3000

Food hasn't changed at all, standing at about $180

Bauxite, also hasn't changed? That monster price of $4400 still stands today!

Steel makes a huge comeback, with its price at $3800, a $200 increase from before

Wait what? A number in the hundreds place? Yup! Lead has a $150 increase to $3550

And finally, Aluminum has dropped back down to $3800, a $300 decrease from last week

Ladies and Gentlemen of Politics and Parsedean Empire, the latest fad to get into is Aluminum again! It's incredibly easy to mass produce it, but only for people willing to spend $4400 on bauxite! Comedy Section: How it’s Made Rice Edition

                        Rice, it makes you Asian. It's a defining dish in African dishes, although you'd be lucky if you've heard of jollof rice. Rice is a pivotal part of society and can be used for anything. Rice cookers, which are used to cook rice, can be used for anything. Even cakes. Rice is something Kay from Kay's Cooking cannot master the art of. Rice is more valuable than gold and silver. Rice can also dry anything, phones, laptops, flooded houses, basically anything!

First, big machines strip the precious material from stalks. Then It's loaded into a factory. The disappointment rice will be used for stuff like Taco Bell. The doctors and lawyers will be used for a sketchy Chinese restaurant. Then, it's bedtime for the rice, and their mothers read them a bedtime story while they play around in the bathtub. Then, it's moved to Texas, where the heatwaves dry the rice out. It then is packaged, and then shipped to fast food restaurants, Chinese restaurants, that cool Asian restaurant down the street, and people who think rice can soak up everything.
