The City of London Mourns her Majesty Queen Elizebeth the Second, by ancient agreement this free City's monarch.

It was a shock to this city to learn this devastating news. Her Late Majesty Queen Elizebeth II is the United Kingdom's longest reigning monarch and for just over 70 years the nation's leading light. From Churchill to Truss, the international Stateswoman guided 15 Prime Ministers, many more across the Commonwealth, and saw the world progress and prosper in the last century.

This left a void in this nation that no single entity could fill. May the Queen rest in peace, and long live the King.

I heard the news and my friends [irl] and I are sad that she passed so quickly after being in hospital.

Despite our nation having no affiliation with the commonwealth or even favor of monarchy, we grant the entire Windsor family our condolences. We have reached the end of an era.

Rest in Peace; Her Majesty shall be remembered as long as man walks upon the Earth.

@The Engineer She is indeed the longest in the UK with 70 years of reign, ahead of Queen Victoria's 63 years. Louis XIV's 72-year record shall not be counted in this instance as he is not the Monarch of any part of the British Isles.
