The Founding of Project Demeter/Aequitas, and the War with The Chaos Insurgency

Edition 3 in the history of Rimskaya

Start: Mid-Late 2077

"Project Demeter" was the commencement of Rimskaya's determination to make a mark on the world of Orbis. Noticing the rising price of food, Rimskaya attempted to band some countries together to try and combat this. In the end, only a few joined up the project, and we made more enemies than allies.

The project, with the help of a few undisclosed nations, was later renamed to the current "Project Aequitas", and has since become much more serious, with plans to become a formal alliance, make diplomatic relations, and start formatting an impact on the world market using never-before-seen strategies. We have prevailed at keeping it alive thus far.

However, before the renaming and rebranding, one particular foe arose to combat Demeter- one that very well could have won.

The Rimskaya-Chaos Insurgency War

The Chaos Insurgency was a far stronger, and far more willed nation than Rimskaya. With nothing held back on weapons, criminal acts against humanity, and other atrocities, the Insurgency was determined to bring us down. But Rimskaya, learning from the past, refused to give up.

The threats of war quickly escalated, until finally, in a sudden turn of events, it was Rimskaya that ended up attacking first, an act that the government regrets to this day and vowed never to do again. The war started with a Rimskayan missile, and then action by the army. Rimskayan forces had the slightest advantage on the ground and began a land invasion of the Insurgency. Insurgent planes bombed Rimskaya day and night non-stop, making The Blitz of the United Kingdom look like a lovely walk in the park.

In time, the Insurgency managed to slow and stop the invasion, before launching one of their own in the northern regions of Rimskaya, that was initially slow, but began to gain ground fast. However, quick deployment of reserve soldiers stopped the attack.

With the invasion of the Insurgency failing, Rimskaya tried to resort back to missile strikes, as well as Dreemurr doing his usual interdimensional lightning thing while sitting back and watching as the Scarlet King cowered in the shadows. he reportedly laughed to himself, telling the commanders "And he thinks he's stronger than me. Yet he refuses to even show his face to mine. Some King he is."

Eventually, the ground attack was able to push a little further, even as Rimskaya continued to get bombed time after time. The Navy, meanwhile, remained at port, waiting for an Insurgent blockade that would never come. We didn't block them; they didn't block us. Democraticus later remarked that he appreciated the Insurgency at least had some class in conducting their war.

However, even as both sides were worn out, it was clear Rimskaya was going to lose, so Democraticus quickly brought out the diplomacy book. To everyone's delight, the Insurgency and Rimskaya agreed on a peace deal, and pledged not to go to war again until 2080.  The war was over- for then.

The treaty was soon revoked after the Insurgency civil war ended with an Ultranationalist victory. And now, tensions have resurfaced. Rimskaya's people, while not happy at the idea of nuclear war, are now far more patriotic and ready to fight the monstrous armies of fascism, imperialism, and Furries.

Rimskaya is not dead,

Never was dead,

And never will die.
