The Winter Solstice Revolution

The story of how Rimskaya revolted.

Started: November 7th, 2020

Ended: December 21st, 2020

As the turmoil faced by the United States in its 2-sided election reached new heights, the people of what then was the city of Tampa (Now Novogo Rima) had finished setting up the foundation for a Socialist Revolution. To commemorate the October Revolution of 1918, the Declaration of Independence and War was issued on November 7th, followed by The Krasnyy Rimskaya Armia (Red Roman Army), which had up until then been underground militiamen storming city hall and seizing control of the city within the day. Rebellions sprung up around the bay, now The Bay of Marx. The inland regions were the most resistant, being dominantly Republican, they withstood the rebellion. By the next day, the Florida branch of the National Guard was already advancing. A frontline was established, and fighting began.

Despite best efforts, the National Guard underestimated the training and preparation by the Revolution, and was initially defeated and pushed back, as the army tried to encircle them. Factories were set into production of armored units, including makeshift tanks, and civilian aircraft were, with permission, converted into a temporary air force. The United States then order the sending of Federal Troops to contain the rebellion. Upon hearing this, MacDill Air Force Base was stormed and seized with minimal losses and converted into what is now the central command of our armed forces. Now with access to proper fighter planes, Rimskaya began to put up a real fight, as the navy was created and dispatched to hold off a potential naval invasion.

To help relieve pressure, other worker rebellions sprang up across the country. America soon found itself in something far more real and organized than the BLM protests faced over the summer. Rimskaya began receiving aid from other rebels, and even undercover assistance from China and Russia, though mostly hoping to just destabilize America. Rimskaya then began to make serious progress. America began to send requests to end the rebellion in peace. Rimskaya sent one demand and one demand only:

Independence.

After debates about territory, diplomacy, and other relations, Rimskaya was released with the territory of Hillsborough, Pinellas, Manatee, Pasco, Hernando, Citrus, Polk, and parts of neighboring counties. A finalizing deal never really made, but in the end, Rimskaya was born on the Winter Solstice, with the final secession being revealed as the Winter Star of Jupiter and Saturn converged that night. The borders were initially solid, but things got chaotic fast.

The United States began to collapse from within as more revolts occurred. Florida itself soon fell apart, followed by the rest of the country, into anarchy and communes, with Rimskaya being the most orderly remnant of the former superpower. It was then determined that we could expand and build at our own free will.

And so began the early years of Rimskaya's existence.

America was never going to use nukes on us. If they won, which they thought they would, that would mean their tourist-revenue-giant of a state would be covered in fallout.

Not if it endangers their capitalist bureaucracy. Nuking Florida would mean no more Disney World, Universal Studios, Cape Canaveral would be toast, and so much agriculture and infrastructure lost. NTM it would cause them to lose every last ally they have and turn the whole world against them, domestic and international, meaning it would spell doom for the American Government.

We didn't hesitate to shove a little boy and a fat man down our poor little powerful puppets throat, so I don't know about Florida. 😂
