He had been waiting, like he always had. Timeline after timeline, reset after reset, never ending. He pondered if it was really worth it, waiting for the kid all these ages knowing that he could never really win. They would always just...

Refuse.

And now, in a timeline like any other, he sat waiting, the barrier towering nearby, hiding in the seemingly endless fields of yellow flowers. He saw his father yonder, tending to a patch of them, like he had been for just as long has he could remember.

His Mother...

Long gone.

This realm, forgotten but by one, constantly being flung mercilessly through time by some unknown force, and he was the only one with the power to try and take control and put a stop to it all- or at least put it all at his mercy. He heard rumble from the nearby room, even as his father didn't take notice.

The kid was already back, fighting that blasted skeleton again in the hallway. He was the closest any other resident of the Underground could come to his level of power, as far as he could see, since his father had basically given up all hope and wasn't as strong as he once had been.

Then, it happened.

Over on the other side of the room, a piece of the wall was crumbling. He moved over to check it out. Then out of nowhere, something like a screen popped up. On it appeared- a human?

Hello, Asriel Dreemurr. Do not question how we know you, but we do. We need your help. Your power is the only one we could think to call for. We are in grave peril against a being like you, who would dare mock your power, your control. Some may not like it, and you might see us as the enemy or a waste of time, but we're not from your timelines. We're a whole new universe all together. We're a realm- of nations. Thousands of states that have warred for centuries. And we decided to try and change that, only to be confronted by one particular nation dedicated to one thing: Chaos. To forward this goal, they summoned a being called The Scarlet King, who shares many abilities and powers likening to yours. Asriel, if you want a new chance at life, come through this portal. It's very unstable, and we can only keep it open for a few minutes, so make your choice fast. Kind Regards, Commissar Maximus Democraticus of Novaya Rimskaya Imperiya, in the world of Orbis.

What was this? A joke? A game? No, it was real. But what did this entail? What could this lead to?

The wall fell, revealing only a swirling blue portal gate, just big enough for his flower-sized form to fit through. He looked back. Could he even return to this world he had known his whole life? It was all happening to fast, but then he heard it.

A knife cut.

He was dead. The kid would take his father next. Could he leave without the souls though? He figured if they knew him, they'd have other souls ready.

Taking one last look at his father, he closed his eyes, and went into the unknown. The last thing he heard, was the gate to the throne room opening, and his father's voice...

*Oh? Is someone there? Just a moment!

The moment he was in though, it was a furious daze. He felt every one of him, in every timeline that ever existed, manifesting inside him, and then, he felt it.

One.

A soul?

Two.

So, they were ready. Perhaps this was how the portal was open.

Three.

He felt like he was about to vomit, everything was spinning.

Four.

He almost regretted coming through, but something told him he made the right choice.

Five.

He could see something in the distance through the madness. It looked like light.

Six.

One more. He could see himself, Asriel Dreemurr, going to a world to fight something he didn't know, for people he didn't know. Was it all a trap? Was he dreaming? He didn't know, but he knew one thing...

He was ready.

Seven.

"Well Hello there, Asriel"
