Probably? Alliances currently exist for protection only to end up waging wars of imperialism that often result in these price hikes. It's high time for a REAL alliance dedicated to prosperity and defense rather than raiding and harship.
I have to agree with Novaya here.
This seems similar to the American Revolution, where some men band together to fight high taxes from rich colonialists, and in Aequitas, some outcast nations band together to fight high food prices from rich sphere tribalists.

I mean technically Rimskaya itself is a Trotskyist state (I.E. Socialist) but Aequitas is set as a moderator between the 2, hence it's banner being a sort of combining balance.

Some people are comparing this to the American revolution... feels a lot more like the Bolshevik revolution since this will inevitably end in the collapse of those involved. The American revolution was built to end a conflict and then avoid more conflicts, rather than what this alliance aims to do: create conflict with much more powerful foes. It won't end well.
