Today the son of the Emperor visited Germania and spent time training and conducting military exercises with veterans of the Legio I Minervia, Legio I Italica, Legio VI Hispana, and the distinguished Legio XIV Gemina.
The Legions have been conducting light raids into barbarian regions that have been launching points for terrorist attacks into Roman territory.
The Imperial Governor of Germania Supirior Lucius Antonius who himself has been a veteran of the Imperial Army for over 30 years stated that “the border regions are some of the most intense and the fighting is nonstop. Soldiers often spend 6 out of their 10 years of service fighting in this region. Imperial security cannot be relaxed for even a moment and we are thankful for the support of the Imperial family. The Roman Senate has taken a more focused notice of the needs of the Rhine legions and morale has been improving”
More then 18,000 solders are stationed in this region of the Empire and are responsible for the defense of Gaul and the internal heartlands. When asked about the military readiness of the region Tiberius said “There is no doubt that the Imperial Army is at the highest state of preparedness and state of alertness. As my father has stated many times these legions are the finest Rome has to offer and Rome honors their sacrifices and each man is a hero worthy of honors stretching back over 2000 years of Roman history going back to the reign of the great Augustus himself. We must honor these men.”
