Rimskaya Legislature votes to increase restrictions on firearms

Upon protest by the people, the following restrictions are now in place.

In the first real law passed by the Legislature, gun rights have been, per request by the people, been put on more reasonable levels along with some related changes.

The law reads as followed:

 

N.R.I. 001

Restriction on military grade and highly destructive weaponry by the civilian population and revision of ownership of legal weaponry and draft to the military.

-All forms of small arms used by the military other than semi-automatics, rifles, pistols, and basic handguns are now banned from civilian ownership. These weapons include Automatic Machine Guns, All forms of rocket launchers, hand grenades, etc.

-All heavy armor is banned from civilian ownership. This includes armored vehicles/cars, tanks both obsolete and modern, rocket trucks, Anti-Aircraft vehicles, etc.

-Personal ownership of fighter planes are now prohibited. This includes both obsolete and modern fighter aircraft, bombers, attack, carrier, etc. Ownership of small civilian drones is still permitted, but military grade drones cannot be owned by other citizens.

-Naval Vessels of all kinds are also prohibited. This includes obsolete ships such as battleships, patrol vessels, landing craft, etc., as well as modern warships.

-All forms of legal weaponry require sufficient and regular mental-state testing, a completely clean criminal record, state-mandated training, implemented trackers in case of theft, and the minimum age of ownership is raised to 21 along with minimum draft age.

Voting result: 98% Approves, 1% Against, 1% Abstain
