Nuclear Warhead Strikes New Meme City, Death toll skyrockets.

In the early morning hours of July 27th, 2076 a single nuclear warhead struck the middle of the Commercial District of New Meme City, the Second-Largest City in the Nation, destroying the local Providence Hospital Branch and a Wells Fargo Bank. Local authorities have confirmed that the Warhead came from the Nation of LA Dreamin, the unanswered question going around is why the warhead targeted the commercial district, instead of nearby Fort Ronaldson and N.A.S. (Naval Air Station) New Meme City. Mayor Pete Scott has been asked that question at today's Media Briefing, his answer was: "We do not yet know why the commercial district was targeted instead of the Military bases. but are investigating the route the nuclear warhead took and where it was launched from. The deaths of our citizens will be avenged" The death toll from the blast will never be completely known, but it stands at around 104,265 dead and another 70,576 wounded. 

President Meme Dev Today gave a speech for all the mourning families of New Meme City "This Horrible and Ghastly attack by LA dreamin will be avenged in the blood of LA Dreamin Soldier's blood. and the suffering of their civilians, the MemeTopian Army is at the gates of their capital, and will soon seize it. their government will pay dearly for the lives they have destroyed!". Local National Guard and MemeTopian Red Cross Units have been mobilized, and resettlement and repair programs have been set in place, Mayor Scott says repairs will cost around 1.2 million MemeTopian Dollars to repair. He also says that it will be hard for these affected families to forget about how peace and tranquility turned to chaos and pandemonium in all but the blink of an eye.
