In the next 7 days, candidates for the major Greenlandic political offices will announce their campaigns for election and re-election. The offices up for election during this cycle are: Office of the President of the United Republic of Greenland, Department of Legislation, and Mayoral positions for all the cities. President Slayer is going to announce his decision on whether he will run for re-election or not tomorrow afternoon. The Presidential race this year is exlected to have a record number of candidates, from many different parties. It is also believed that the National Democratic party of Greenland, (N.D.G.), could lose it's 64% majority over the other parties in the Department of Legislation, and some of the mayoral races could get interesting.

Some of the parties that are gaining ground in Greenland include: Nationalist-Conservative party of Greenland (President Slayer's party, held 20% of the seats in the Dept. Leg.), The Arctic Socialist party of Greenland, The Greenlandic Union of Communists, the Libertarian party of Greenland, and the Greenland Nationalist-Liberal party.

More information will come in the coming days once candidates are officially registered in the election cycle. Stay tuned to GNN for more information!
