After the recent invasion of Svalbard, over 1,000 people took to the city centre of Diver to protest anti-invasion and to make Svalbard an independent country.

After a recent Democratic poll, it appears that 84.72% of the residents in Svalbard are happy with the colonisation and would prefer to stay.

At 16:51 today police were called to attempt to disperse the crowds but the stubborn protesters refused to move. Police then took to pulling protesters out for a document check and a bag search, arresting those who break the law.

After successfully managing to arrest 100 people through this technique, Police resorted to using a water cannon to separate the crowds. For those who still refused to move, Police resorted to using batons and arresting the remaining protesters. Over 500 protesters were arrested that evening.

All protesters were loaded onto a police bus/shuttle and taken to the police station, where they spent 15 hours in a cell. The 600 arrested protesters were sentenced to 15 years imprisonment at London Hard Labour Camp for either protesting illegally, leading an unannounced demonstration or violent disorder.
