It's been a while folks of the shore.... but we now have more news for you! A lot of the island has been in a state of confusion and mystery due to the delayed progress of the Grand Romance between Our Lady Queen and Lord Meriwether....there have been love letters exchanged, anarchy declared, anarchy failed, one rebellion crushed.... many wars lost and attackers have mercilessly ravaged our soil... and now after all this we hope that the two can unite and forge a strong realm between the Hebridean countries and the Kingdom of York. The Queen herself has said that she will be glad to gain the protection of the man whom she loves. During the time when barbaric attackers took advantage of our Islands... Our Queen was left alone... but now she hopefully will have a Kings Wisdom to guide her on her reign.
The Future King is a potent force indeed. He has proved himself to be a mighty warrior and a proud protector of the realm. When he Stuck down the Douglas Plot with one swift move... the advisors in court knew he was a force too great to be beaten by anything or anyone. "This man is our saviour" was the words from The High Druid Council..... and it was these words that echoed in the hearts of the nations public. The Queen herself has confessed her love openly for this man... Both in her private correspondence and her public statements it is clear that this is a union for the soul just as it is for the realm. In the last many weeks and months that have passed the two have been courting one another in private... away from the public eye. Fort William Castle staff, advisors and even public onlookers have suggested that the future king and his queen have been going for long day time walks in the forbidding highland moors. In secret they have been seen walking together, talking and even holding hands! Her Grace left the island to join her Lord on the mainland just a month ago. He was on private business that was to detain him longer than required. So now they both stay in the small highland village of Glencoe..... immersed in the magical and almost haunted valleys. The Earl had made a public statement this week... that confirmed he would be marrying the her.
Although we had not had any reaction from the royal company at Amhuinnsuidhe Castle... we do not expect any resistance or negative comments.... the earl of York does not seem the type to take kindly to such bad manner... as he clearly demonstrated before (see his speech when berating the fallen Douglass rebels). The nations peasants however are going to be overjoyed that the royal romance is finally coming alive...
The King also confirmed a date for when they would both returnee to the Isle of Lewis....Although the spectators say that this was meant as a distraction. Secret weddings have not been unheard of in the realms history... and although it is unlikely that the Earl of York would condone such a heathen tradition, Love can be bold and change fire to ice.... so therefore the possibility that the Earl would announce the date of return, in order to divert public attention away, has become a very attractive mystery for the bored spectators....... and who can blame them? the last few weeks have been uneventful to say the least... The word of the Royal Romance igniting is like a feast of roast pig and dumplings!
