As the United Imperium gears up for Christmas celebrations, the month has been a bit quieter. While the United Imperium continues it's territorial ambitions and prepares to officially green light the Space Agency, things have been very peaceful. TFAP has not been involved in any recent wars, and aside from the occasional pirate counter, nothing has really occurred. Nevertheless, here are the big events from the month of December:

First, on the 13th of December, a new city was founded: The Hall of Professors. However, this not just any ordinary city: this town is meant to be a shining beacon of higher education, technology, and innovation. The United Imperium has several universities of international prestige, including Michigan University, Villa de Liberty, Roosevelt, and the Carthage Institute. The Hall of Professors will add to this, and highly touted schools like Smithson, Oppenheimer University, and Francis Institute of Technology, will add to the collection of the Imperium's institutions of higher learning.

The United Imperium also continued its technological pursuits by continuing the onboarding process of the Imperium Space Exploration Agency. While this was delayed by the decision of the United Imperium to invest in nuclear weapons, the process is going smoothly, and space-related work will be under civilian oversight before 2077, if all goes well. The first goals of the agency are to get a satellite in orbit around space, and to also put a man in space. Traditionally, many space agencies have put animals into space, but the ISEA feels that this step can be ignored. Of course, the endgame is to have a man on the moon before 2080, but this is an ambitious goal to meet.

In other news, the attempts by the Liberal Party to set up embassies in nations such as La Punta and Igua-Sul has failed miserably. Buoyed by success in the War of Hegemony and Second Delta War, the public was much more inclined to support the Conservative and Unitarian Parties, as the Liberals, Progressives, and Libertarians all had chunks of their voter representation taken away. While the Conservatives and Unitarians disagree on many things, from economics to social policies, and even foreign policy, the two have agreed that embassies should be kept "in-house". What does that mean? It means that they both believe that embassies of the United Imperium should only exist in TFAP affiliated nations, and while Igua-Sul and La Punta are good allies, they are not TFAP affiliates, and as such the Conservatives and Unitarians do not want embassies in these nations. Nevertheless, the Liberal Party attempted to request the creation of an embassy in Igua-Sul. Despite backing from President Lincoln (a member of the Conservative Party), the Liberal Party failed miserably in this. By an overwhelming majority, the Conservatives and Unitarians blocked the request.

In sports, the Fighting Pacifists Baseball League had another big week: the week's matches started with the Mega Corporation Classic: the baseball match held every year at Levi Truman Memorial Field. This year, it was a part of the TFP Baseball League, between the United Imperium Thunderbirds and the SOTCW Apostles. The game was pretty close, with the Apostles barely hanging one to a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the eight. However, a couple of early blunders by the infield and two walks left the bases loaded, and the Apostles were then given a nightmare in a man: Clarence Bush, designated pinch hitter for the Thunderbirds:

And I think the Apostles have messed up pretty badly here. They were in the lead for a bit, and then threw it all away with these silly mistakes. And they've put themselves in a really bad spot here, since another error gives the Thunderbirds a run, which ties the game. And what's this? Wow, the Thunderbirds really want to throw the kitchen sink at the Apostles for this one, they are sending in pinch-hitter Clarence Bush to make a play at the plate! This crowd has gone wild, and the pitch hasn't even come in yet! Here we go. Here's the pitch, and BUSH HITS AN ABSOLUTE HAYMAKER INTO LEFT FIELD! IT'S GOING... GOING... GOING... AND IT'S GONE, SPLASHING DOWN INTO THE WAVES OF LAKE MICHIGAN AT SUNSET! IT'S A GRAND SLAM, AND AS BUSH GRIDDIES HIS WAY INTO HOME PLATE, THE THUNDERBIRDS WILL GO UP 4-1!

The Thunderbirds would move to 3-1 on the year, continuing to establish themselves as a top playoff contender. The Zacharia Mutants would do the same, moving to 4-0 as they dominated the Shwinnland Raiders, by a score of 22-0 (Patrick Collins was out of this match due to an arm injury). And the UFR Businessmen would take down the Kinshasa Big Shots in a grueling 1-0 affair.

In other sports news, the Roosevelt Eagles have completely fallen apart. Their big trade has completely failed, since their defense is allowing an atrocious 36 points a game, a record worst. The offense has fallen short of expectations, and this team is on the verge of missing the playoffs: they must win their next match to get in, and also have the Bradyia Pirates defeat the Eisenhower Thunder to do so. The Star's Hollow Patriots and Bradyia Pirates continue to be the favorites to win the championship.

Finally, the United Imperium is preparing to host it's first ever Christmas Parade! There will be many attractions, like an ice skating rink, ferris wheel, casino (only for 18+), BBQ competition, snowman building competition, and more. The rapper Skittles will also have a special performance, unveiling his new song "Before I Ascend" live in the Roosevelt National Amphitheatre.

Though the month has been quiet, it's still been a good one for the United Imperium. Things are looking up, and life has never been better. Hopefully, this positive trend continues as the Imperium continues to expand and grow.
