After a half-year isolationist period, the BAZ is re-entering diplomacy with other nations.

Saint Brighid, BAZ

Roughly two weeks ago, delegations from all communes in the Autonomous Zone met in Saint Brighid to discuss a potential return to international politics.

Almost half a year ago, the anarchists of our nation suddenly and violently halted all programs oriented towards foreign states.  The rationale was of growing instability both domestically and abroad, leading to a widespread push to focus on internal affairs.

One citizen told us: "Really, the shift seemed to come out of nowhere.  One minute we were sending weapons and aid to our comrades overseas, and the next, public opinion was isolationist.  It felt like I woke up in a different universe - not that I'm upset, but the shift was unprecedented."

One member of the September session of the Spruce Hill council explained more:
"Rumour quickly spread that our collective missions to allies were only feeding a colossal war machine.  Having recently split off from a similar affair, we decided to close up shop."

Reasons as to why the Autonomous Zone is making an equally sudden return to the foreign affair scene are plenty.  Some believe it to be a national recollection of ideals, again seeing good in other peoples.  Others argue that such morality never left, and that the situation was of growing wroth in the country.  However, the most popular view seems to be that the situation in Eastern Europe collectively "shamed" the Autonomous Zone into re-affirming anti-fascist principles.

Critics of the return believe that the country is again on track to instability, believing foreign affairs will only serve to enrage the people, instead of bringing more virtues and connections.  Time will tell to see whether or not the Brythonic Autonomous Zone will stay a player on the international scene, or if isolation really is the best medicine for communism.
